Not sure there should be a loan watch thread for Greenwood… I do think fans will be intrigued to see how he fares…
Call me a cynic but feels like Utd have sent their PR team out to manage this situation.
Apparently Getafe went against the normal protocol in Spanish football when new signings meet the press and answer questions. This year Getafe did the usual meet and greet but none of the new signings were allowed to answer questions.
I suspect part of the agreement requires Getafe to protect him from the media and limit his exposure and anything they post on their social media about him is likely being signed off by Utd prior to being posted.
There's a rumour of a break clause in January where either party can decide to end the loan in January and the player returns to Utd.
Utd apparently paying most of his wages and also paying his house rental and a full time translator to help him.
Definitely.I think the only person to blame for Mason Greenwood's predicament is Mason Greenwood.
Not to go over it all again but until he explains what those videos are about I'll judge them at face value and as a result I don't want him anywhere near the club again.
Sell him for as much money as possible and move on.
Well they key thing about that is she then broadcasted it to the world and it was no longer behind closed doors.
He can’t just pretend it didn’t happen. Might work at Getafe but won’t at a club like United. I imagine the club would love him around but he’s got a lot of PR work to do.
He’d be exactly what we could do with on the pitch right now. The right wing spot would be his and he can go up top and give Hojlund a break.
Not intentionally, and if she and her family are happy for them to be together that should be then end of it.
Intentionally or not unfortunately for Mason people can’t just forget what they’ve heard.
If I was him I’d stick in Spain. Go join one of the big two when his contract expires. Get a massive payday and stick away from the English media and the hatred he’d receive at English grounds.
For me it's a personal thing I just can't move on from what I saw and heard without an explanation.
If they want to keep the explanation behind it all private then that's up to them but without it I can't really change my mind that there's something that has happened there and they've decided to cover it up and move on with their lives.
For them it's probably best they do it away from Man Utd.
But it isn't any of your business, surely you can see that, allow yourself to give them the benefit of doubt that is was just some perverse sex game, and he is protecting her and taking all the heat himself. If he tells the press well my missus is a bit friggin weird and fantasises about me beating and raping her the relationship ends there, something neither of them want.
It just doesn't sit right with me. I can't change that and having a little girl probably triggers me a bit of these sorts of things.
Assuming it was a mutual thing we don't really know who's desire it was satisfying for all we know it's him who needs to feel like he's treating her like sh*t to get himself off or the other way or both. As long as it's mutual and safe then that is there business.
Or he did do these things she made it public in a fit of rage (possibly had enough of his cheating) but she's forgiven him and is happy to go along with a story that covers it all up and keeps him out of the reach of the law.
There's just a lot of unknown stuff on the whole situation and unless they are willing to provide a bit of context personally I can't move on from it.
He might be an evil bastard, she might be a manipulate bitch, might be a mix of both, or none of the above, who knows
And yes I get the Father of a daughter bit as I have a daughter myself, but .....
Maybe time to just comment on his on field exploits.
Apologies if I pushed you too hard there on what is and will remain an emotive topic.
No worries I can see why some are happy to move past it I just can't but it's not my decision to make.
I do think the best thing for him, her and the club is a permanent transfer to another club. Close the chapter on this period of their lives and move forward.
He seems to be doing pretty well on the pitch, think there's been a few stories about him getting the treatment from home fans when he travels away but he probably hasn't got a clue what's being said and his performances seem to be good.
Utd could do with the £100m to rebuild the squad.

United won’t be getting any money for him. His contract runs out coinciding with the loan finishing.
I would imagine he definitely won’t be signing a new deal just to do us a favour.
Unless we have an option to break the loan this summer to sell him? Probably would get about £10m though everyone knows they’ve got us over a barrel with him.
