Manchester United youngster Joe Rothwell will join Championship side Blackpool for the rest of the season after the two clubs agreed a loan deal.
The 20-year-old midfielder first trained with the Reds at the age of six and has worked his way up through the ranks in impressive fashion, captaining the Under-18 side on occasion. He was also part of the United side which reached the Barclays Under-21 Premier League play-off final against Chelsea last May at Old Trafford.
This will be Rothwell's first loan spell and Blackpool boss Lee Clark told the Tangerines' official website: "Joe is someone we've been monitoring for a while and I'm pleased that a deal has been agreed. He's very highly regarded at Old Trafford and I'm looking forward to working with him."
A box-to-box midfielder, Rothwell is expected to link up with the Championship side on Thursday ahead of a potential debut against Brighton on Saturday.
