It's quite on the gossip with these two buyouts. I wonder if anything is going on, or we'll just hear about it as it happens.

I think at the price both clubs will be demanding it will take time for people to put their offers together it's not like Chelsea there isn't a clear deadline for the deal or a set price.

You would think both clubs would like to have a preferred bidder in the bag by March to try and conclude the deal by the end of the season. A summer transfer window without the new owners/investors in place could be very damaging for either club as there will be the absolute minimum investment going on.

Diaz, who only came back last week, has picked another injury, out for 3 months

Bullet dodged with Nunez?

I dunno there’s something there with him just from the physical side of the game and his movement is good but his finishing is all over the place.

He reminds me a lot of the younger version of Cavani.

Wonder if Liverpool will get a fine for the constant ganging up on the Referee, that'll be a no then ....

Great movement? Physical attributes? If he puts it all together, look out? Sounds exactly like the type of player we'd over pay for and spend the next 5 years waiting for the other shoe to drop. Might've gotten lucky on this one.

What a perfect day of football. We’re 10 points clear of them, and only 1 back of City at the halfway-ish point. Who’d have thought that after the first two matches?

Welbeck with the Rashford celebration. Wherever the kid goes his heart will still be at Old Trafford.

I keep thinking they'll eventually come good and start climbing the table but they really look in trouble.

Klopp has said in public he's sticking around but they'll need a big summer spending spree to sort out the midfield and it's hard to see that happening without the new investors/takeover happening.

I dunno Liverpool is a lot cheaper than Utd and apart from investing in the squad there isn't much else to be done.

The stadium and training ground is basically done for now.

Problem Liverpool face is growing sponsorship deals to create the larger revenue and they can't just pump up ticket prices.

they have the stadium problem as us, it just isn't fit for the modern game. And that squad needs an overhaul.

The one positive they had was their position in world football, which has taken a dive and doesn't look like turning around soon.

Well they're currently in the process of expanding a second stand bringing up capacity again and they've built a new training ground. The new stand that's currently being built will have a big hospitality area which is where the real money can be made these days. That takes their capacity to just over 61,000 which is similar to City, Arsenal and Spurs. Any further expansion is tricky because of the tight surroundings to Anfield but it gives them a really strong competitive ticket revenue.

Where I think Anfield struggles is it can't be used for much else you don't see many concerts/events held at Anfield during the year.

Like Utd they have a huge worldwide following that they now capitalise on with sponsorship revenues that are on par with Utd's. The issue both clubs face is that City are cooking their books with third party sponsors so whatever they can legitimately get on the open market, City just match through a different state owned company.

I think new owners would look at that club and think we don't need to do much here just provide some capital investment to bolster the squad.

They still have Klopp but it does seem like quite a few of the people around him who's played roles in the success are leaving which could be a problem for them going forward.

I assumed at some point they’d get it together and go on a run but it just isn’t happening.

ignoring the sarcasm he’d be a disaster at a club like Madrid bit if Atletico sacked Simeone this summer then Klopp is the guy

Why would Klopp be a disaster at Madrid? He got Liverpool playing the type of football those white towel waving honks adore, and he's also delusional so it'd be a match made in heaven.

They've scored 34 and conceded 28. For reference, we've also scored 34 and conceded 26, so it's not just down to VvD.

Just think his personality wont fit with Madrid fans and board. It is a strange club the moment you try to change anything everyone throws in their opinion and the press pressure is insane.

I think it would bring out the worst parts of Klopp rather than the best in my opinion. I think he suits the underdog club rather than the establishment club if that makes sense.

I agree that there’d be “passion” overload (toddler style emotional control) with Klopp and the Madridistas, but they’re probably not winning the league this season which would appeal to his underdog mentality. I think they’d love him to start but eventually it’ll hit the fan, like it always does there and then the fun will begin.

I think there initial statement on the sale was suggesting they were looking for investment rather than a full sale.

They never really set a deadline/process for it either just issued a public statement saying they were looking for new investment to help fund the growth of the club.
