So important we keep this guy fit this season! We missed him so much last season and our playing from the back suffered as a result.

I think him and Yoro could be a very accomplished partnership moving forward.
 
Probably the most important player in our squad we need to be getting 40-50 games out of him this season.
 
Fundamental that we keep him fit this season. The key player in our squad a shame Yoro has got injured but I don't mind whose partnering Martinez as long as he's there.

Changes the entire way we play.

Martinez made a joke on Sky after the game when he was interviewed said "he sent him to the gym" when we won a 1 vs 1 against him.

Traore responded on social media with another joke.

Another poor-ish performance to follow his poor-ish performance against Fulham. Where was he for the winner?
 
Guess he deserves a couple of games to get up to speed.

Another player who I think is struggling having had no pre season.

Can’t help that in both games we’ve changed centre back.

De Ligt needs to start the next game.

His passing out from the back, one of his strengths, has been shocking since the back end of last season. The guy needs a rest.
 
The whole team has been passing badly in my view.

Bruno, has passed badly on many occasions, but is the only player who has managed to make some passes of a positive note
 
I think he’s making one or two bad decisions in each game which is unlike him.

So far I’d say 6/10 in every game but we need him to do a lot more.
 
His last two performances have been better after a slow start to the season. He was very lucky not to see red for the two footed lunge tackle though.
 
Such a silly thing to do as well.

That two footed challenge was bad he needs to cut that out, not back to his best yet either.

Yeah I definitely thought of Rojo when he did it! A little mistimed and he would have seen red and we may well have lost that game. There is just no point to do it.

Must just be a natural instinct as there’s no reason to do it.

Maybe trying to encourage the other guy to bottle the 50/50?
 
One thing we’ve loved about Martinez since he arrived has been his no nonsense approach but at the moment he just looks rash and not in control of anything. He needs to wise up because at the moment he just looks like he wants to fight everyone.

Agree. He's a red card waiting to happen.
 
His head has almost gone completely lately, he’s frustrated I get that but needs someone to have a chat before he gets a red.

He was awful. His form is a real worry.
 
At this point you’ve got to be thinking of dropping him no? Maguire has his flaws but he’s got to be a better bet at the moment.

Martinez was very good in his first season but since then form and injuries have been a real concern.
 
I’d play him at left back vs Villa as a one off.

He isn’t playing well
 
Certainly looks a step behind in his anticipation.

Injuries maybe took a little bit of his sharpness away.

He’s an aggressive front foot defender to do that you can’t afford to arrive late and sadly he is.

That channel between him and Dalot is a problem and teams are targeting it.
