They might have preferred to wait but if clubs are circling now they’ll have to move, was same with us many years ago with Rooney and Jones. Utd moved earlier than planned to secure those deals as other clubs were going early and we felt they were talents we could not risk missing out on.

I’m sure Varane will put in a good word…. for Madrid obviously!

Well I am shocked.

Madrid really have taken it up a notch in securing the best young talent on the market.
 
What player at the moment wouldn't want to go Madrid, incredible new stadium, best players in the world and the best manager
 
Well if you want to play every week probably best to avoid them but what they’ve shown is you will be eased in and it’s up to you to take the starting spot of the man who currently has it.

Still it’s Madrid if they come calling just be impossible to turn them down unless you are a Barca fan

They don't need him to walk into the team straight away though they've got Rudiger and Militao who are both still in their prime.

Think I read Nacho is leaving this summer so this is just future proofing their squad which is how they've done it with the kids so far.

I think they'll get him in the door rather than risk letting someone else take him, that seems to be how they like to do it now.

If they let him go to another club in 2-3 years time they could end up paying double what they need to pay this summer.

If the lad wants to go to Madrid seems pointless even making offers.

I suspect this guy will be the alternative to Branthwaite if Everton aren't going to lower their asking price.
 
I dont see Madrid going for him yet. They don't need him and he's a gamble.

I've seen him a few times, he didn't jump out as anything special
 
Not use to my club working like this in a long time working on multiple deals for staff and players while not giving in to Everton does seem like we're acting like a big club again.

If he chooses Madrid it will still show Everton we are prepared to walk away , Win win.
 
They didn’t need any of these young players when they got them but they plan ahead to get them in early to learn then step in when they are ready.

I just find it interesting and baffling that United seem to overlook the position. Their midfield is amongst the bottom sides in the league. Yes Mainoo is brilliant but he needs someone in there with him. They don’t have anyone even half decent to play with him and they lack depth. It’s been a huge issue with United for a long time.
 
It's strange that we'll spend 100 million on CBs and probably loan midfielders like we have these last couple seasons , if Casemiro leaves maybe we'll buy instead time will tell.
 
Could be as simple that the players we want aren’t available this summer or they haven’t settled on who to go for yet.

There was a lot of talk about Neves from Benfica but that’s gone very quiet.

I would be shocked if we don’t bring in at least 1 centre mid before the end of the transfer window.

There are rumours about Casemiro, Eriksen and McTominay leaving this summer if any of them leave they need replacing.
