Leny Yoro | Match Discussion Thread 2024/25

He has not been a regular starter but showed great character and courage to step up for the penalty.

Tough night struggled to defend that space one vs one.

Still a lot to learn for the young man.

Yeah really struggled tonight but he’ll grow from this. First time I’ve really seen that Sulemana play but he looks a really tricky customer to play against.

He’s infuriatingly inconsistent. Such pace and skill but no end product (as you saw today) and often you don’t notice him in a game. He was in and out of the team last year and that was in the Championship.

Think he struggled again.

Doesn’t look assured on the ball or without it, he’s not controlling situations he’s reacting to them.

Difficult afternoon for the lad. Hopefully a learning experience that he can take forward for the future.

Been a few to many games like that for someone with his price tag?

I know he’s a youngster but he looks very average so far.

Difficult first season so far but I can see he has the attributes, however this league is brutal if you’re not on it from the start. The young lad Khusanov found that out as well against Chelsea on his City debut.

Such an unforgiving league but I have faith Yoro will come good.

I’m worried looks to me like another Hojlund situation.

Talented teenager thrown into a really bad situation well before he’s ready.

He looks like a player who needed another year or two in France.

Hopefully he will learn a lot from a tough first year but I’m not seeing anything that makes him stand out to be honest.

I watched him last season, and you were all saying can't wait for him start I did warn you.
He's a great prospect, but not ready for the prem.
Really he should be getting minutes. Not starting.
But he's no Hojlund, this boy will be top drawer.

It was more the age comparison and raw talent point.

Chucking these players into a struggling team is setting them up to fail.

Compare Yoro to Saliba who was another highly rated French talent. Arsenal got him then sent him back to France for 2 years to get ready.

Yoro to me looks like he needed the same
