League Cup 2023/24: Man United vs Leicester - Weds 30th Oct - 19:45 KO

I think in general the negative comments are during/after the matches.

I think if your only argument is, you're not a fan because you don't agree with my ideology, you've lost the argument.

Especially when the table, results and performances point to something different.

@jsp, second half has started a bit bereft of ideas so far. Maybe they feel they've done enough

Good spell for Leicester right now, they're putting some pressure on us down the right.

5-2, Fernandes!

Great bit of composure for the finish.

Drag-back then pretty much walks it in.

Good performance, I assume onana was just rested.
Be crazy not to give Ruud a run of games really

If they’ve found the guy they want you get him in to start as soon as possible.

Be nice if they can find a role for Ruud in the new setup but sounds unlikely.

Feels very much like I missed the fun part of this game.

To be fair this attacking performance isn’t a world away from other performances under ETH, the difference tonight we’ve put the ball in the net.

Great to see us scoring some goals but this was a below strength Leicester team - so a little context needed.

Sunday is the big one to see if we have raised our game.

Isn't a world away? We scored goals and won the game comfortably. I'd say that's a solar system away.

I liked the fact that he played Cas and Ugarte together. I think he should have started Rasmus instead of Zirkzee though.

We created as many chances as we did against West Ham but tonight we put them away. So the performance wasn’t too dissimilar.

The result was of course better than recent weeks but again context needed.

I don’t think the result would have been any different had ETH been in charge. There was no radical change Ruud made.

Very radical in playing Uguarte and Casemiro together.

Nice to see the crowd appreciating Zirkzee's performance which was only really missing a goal, it'll come, hopefully as a sub at the weekend.

Fill your boots with that one girls and boys.

Chillax @Mr C

and @jsp at least you had the choice, if you don't have your t'internet with Sky that option isn't available, thought apparently it's suppose to be available with SkyGo, but that doesn't seem to work either

Stop crying

Remind me @Mr C how these comments help the forum. It feels a lot like you're very picky with which comments you're going to call out.

JC was spot on in which he said. For 6 months there's been far too much abuse that gets overlooked.

Yes @IDFD is right that those sort of comments like ‘stop crying’ doesn’t help the forum at all. It just appears we have petty members. We ideally don’t want to ban/temp ban anyone but come on be adults when posting.

I feel like my post about thinking before you post fell on deaf ears to be honest.

Yes, I agree, it's all a bit daft, opinions should be allowed sans retribution.

On the game, I think the main difference was we didn't tend to keep the ball along our backline for as long, giving the opposition less time to get into position. That amazing first goal seemed to give a lift.

This is probably me reading something into nothng, but the players seemed a bit happier, a bit lighter. Amads face coming on, compared to the last game he came on were worlds apart.

But its ok for you to abuse people I take it?
Listen mush if you come at me with the type of comment you made yesterday....just because you dont like it i`ll be coming back at you.

I think people on both sides of the fence say things they shouldn't

It's just opinions, nobody is right, and certainly you shouldn't claim to be more of fan because for some reason you think your opinion is correct. It's not, it's an opinion. And the tit for tat comments don't help the forum either.

There are certain posters who have very strong trains of thought and are unwilling to accpet other opinions without being bitchy

IDFD the clear source of all the nonsense again.

He's wound up JammyRed.

And he also won't allow Mr C an opinion.

It's also damn hilarious that he thinks abuse has been overlooked. Holy shit.

I was on Sky Go while trying to get my daughter to sleep and couldn't find a way on the Sky Go app to even get to a match choice screen.

When I got downstairs every time I hit the red button it would just bring up an error code.

The joys of modern technology.

Looked to me like the players were just given the freedom to go out and play and it was probably a similar message from the Leicester manager.

Both sides made changes and it made for a very open game in the first half where Utd were pretty ruthless with their finishing.

Certainly helps when someone screams one in the top corner from 30 yards to get you going.

count yourself lucky, I live in the midle of nowhere, if anyone in my family uses the wifi at the same time, its like watching the big match in the 70's, blurry figures passing a ball around

No wifi usage is allowed while football is on :D

Dunno, I feel like something was very different. The next games will definitely tell a better story though, I agree.

I think playing Cas with Ugarte went a long way. The latter looked great and is and was clearly ready to play.

I wonder if Eriksen didn’t get injured we would have seen Cas and Ugarte together? I agree that partnership really worked last night and could be the one going forward.

I think we have heaped a little bit too much pressure on Mainoo early. Would be nice if he wasn’t relied upon week after week - we need others to step up.

Would be less frustrating if I hadn't just signed up to a new faster service with them.

Back to the game really don't think we can ready much into it both sides made a few changes and league cup games can be a lot more open as teams do seem to take a lot more risks than they would in the league.

With the new manager coming in if it's going to be Amorim and 3-4-3 then I would expect the two in midfield to be Casemiro and Ugarte. Obviously if we can condense the game a bit and not have Casemiro trying to run box to box to stop counter attacks it's going to help him.

Hard to know what Ruud would have done to be honest. Eriksen was in good form so you have to think it was a possibility he would have started. It worked out well though and we may have found our best central midfield partnership.

Mainoo just needs to be learning, and coming in here and there for the more experienced players this year I think. He's got a bright future but his time isn't quite yet.

I think positionally Mainoo has a lot to learn to be a centre mid.

It may be that in the new setup he is used more in the front 3 as a creative player closer to goal as that is where I think he could really shine.

Going to be a lot of players competing for those two "number 10" roles in the 3-4-3 under Amorim.
