Hopefully he’s had a good rest after the Euro’s because he is already one of the first names on our team sheet, even at such a young age.

Brilliant first season, followed by a confident showing in the Euro’s, hopefully more of the same this season.

Yeah he definitely needs someone in there that can take the slack. I felt like last season he was running the show alone in there!

Pulled out of the England squad.

Looks like he could do with a little break.

He is very good, I noticed the last game Amad kept giving him the ball when he was surrounded and other options were on.
Out of the two, its Ugarte who goes for me.

Ugarte has been one of our best players. I dread to think what our midfield would be like without him.

There’s a lot of talent but you should never ever be relying on kids.

The young players are struggling but the senior players on the big money are the ones who are failing.

He’s struggling at the minute. His lack of passing range is hurting the team. Still only 19 though.

I would like to see him play at 10 in Bruno’s absence and get legs in midfield, but who?

Right now Casemire and Uguarte are the best midfield combination we have. His lack of pace is showing up. Once you push the ball past him and run then he can never catch up. Didn't RVN play Cas and Uguarte together and we looked solid then?

Casemiro makes Mainoo look like Usain Bolt!

I don’t necessarily disagree that we may need Casemiro in there to try and add some experience but he’s got so many mistakes in him now that I’m not sure the positives outweigh the negatives.

Iv mentioned it a few times Kobbie is slow and I find it a concern just HOW slow he is.

I’m not sure it’s a mega concern to be honest but I think as a whole we need a team that compliments all of our players. If you look at the great teams the players all just work in harmony - at the moment our players look like individuals trying to work out how to play a team.

Modric isn’t the quickest but has brilliant technical ability which I Mainoo has. So while it would be better if he was a little quicker, it’s not a deal breaker. Plus as he gets older I think he’ll add that little bit more speed to his game.

Modric passing ability was miles clear of Kobbie. Mainoo carries the ball well but he has to learn how to pass it forward quickly and accurately to be a centre mid.

Mainoo to me is looking a little bit lost in the new system. I think longer term he will be pushed ahead as a number 10 playing closer to goal.

Problem is right now we don’t have enough options to go alongside Ugarte in that midfield 2.

That I agree with you about pushing forward but right now I will play Cas and Uguarte.

There’s nothing long term with Cas I’d tell him to find a new club if he wants to play regularly. He can be first off the bench but I’d rather go through the pain of Mainoo learning than just give Cas more games.

This season is a write off.

Mainoo is not going to be able to play in this kind of midfield.

Mainoo is a super player, he will learn
The system doesn't suit him. His position doesn't exist. It's like saying he's a superb player so he can adapt to playing right back.

Hes going to be a cracking player but it's not going to be as a holding midfielder.

I don’t think he’s got a position yet.

Superb talent but needs to learn a position either a box to box midfielder in the 2 or one of the 2 number 10s.

I personally think it’s better to have him further forward for now.

Many players have learnt different roles in the middle, it's not like teaching RB at all.

Take Scholes as an example

How many players like Scholes could really move back and play to that level. It also came with 15 years of maturity and footballing intelligence something almost no player had over Scholes. Not something he could have done at 19.

Scholes didn’t move into centre mid until he was 22-23 and had 2 seasons in the first team.

Stepped in when Keane did his cruciate.

I just don’t think Mainoo’s game suits it his 1 and 2 touch game needs to improve a lot and not sure he’s got the physical game to really dominate in there.

Whatever happens Utd need to get some top players in their mid 20s to lead this team and bring these kids on

Need some leaders, players with a top work ethic and fighting spirit.

Yep it’s the senior players in that squad that are really letting us down. Kids are having to shoulder the burden for them and it’s not on.

Probably his best game of the season so far.

Sadly game was lost by the time he came on

Another good game.

Is he finally ready to get his season going.

He’s starting to recapture his form from last season. Hopefully he and Ugarte can give a base to the team for the remainder of the season.

Really pleasing to see that performance today. Blessed with great feet.

His defensive work is where the problem always is. Once they get past him he cannot catch up. In the first half he let go of a pool player and he had a shot on goal.

There is certainly a bit of that, I think it was the MacAllister chance where he ran off the back of him and ended up with a free shot in the box.

Really?

That's just called football.

These are elite level footballers, of course he can't catch back up. You say some stupid stuff.
