Disappointing for the lad. He looks to have really played his way into ETH’s thoughts for the new season.

Hopefully this injury doesn’t keep him out for too long.
 
Heard some reports of 2 months others suggesting he might not be back until next year.

Real shame for him as he was making a big impression in the pre season games and looking like he might get some games with the first team this season.
 
Yeah I think the main consensus is that it might be a couple of months. So could be a return late September/October at best.
 
He obviously won't think it at the moment but short-term this injury might be the best thing for the lad,
 
Much needed. He will be rusty and require a few games to get up to full speed.
 
Yeah, he will be eased back in to proceedings. As things stand, you’d expect him to eventually replace Casemiro.
 
You wonder if the league cup game in a few weeks is the one they’ll look to get him some playing time in.

Expect both sides to make lots of changes for that one.
 
Played in a behind closed doors friendly game Vs Barnsley this week.

Sounds like a return is close.

EDIT other reports suggest he was pulled out of the game at the last minute.
 
Played 45 minutes for the U19 team against Copenhagen.
 
Good to see him back and looked solid after being out for so long.

The more I see of Gore the more I am impressed as well. Just glides around the midfield and I think he would benefit from a loan just to get some more higher level minutes because he could be very very good.
 
I was hoping for a sub appearance in the senior match. Not sure a place on the bench is worth the risk on Sunday. Maybe a start against Newcastle in the league cup?

How did he play in the U19’s match?
 
Think league cup is the game to target.

I didn’t see the whole game just saw a report that he’d played, caught a bit of the second half after he’d gone off.

Looks very comfortable and confident on the ball close to his own goal and he moves it very quickly.
 
Hopefully we will see this lad in first team action when we return from the international break.

With Eriksen also out surely it's only a matter of time before he gets on the pitch.
 
Think he’s put himself ahead of McT and Mount to partner Casemiro.

Captained England u19 in midweek, then had a pleasant Sunday afternoon stroll today.

To the Manor born, his handling by EtH will be key.

I agree, he replaces Casemiro.

Best player on the pitch by a country mile today.
 
All the reports sound great sadly I missed the game yesterday so only caught the highlights.
 
he was brilliant, exactly what we've been missing. So composed, don't recall a mispalaced pass, great under pressure, got back well.

Composed half an hour in a hostile atmosphere. He looked the coolest midfielder out there.

In a pretty hap hazard season he’s a real bright spark.
 
Think he will have learnt a valuable lesson about this level.

Switch off for a second and you can be ruthlessly punished by opponents.
 
He's looking good, but will only make it if he starts to dictate play. Needs to show he has that footballing brain that will convert his composure into match control. Hopefully, will develop with every game he plays.
 
He's 18 FFS, give him a chance.

He is already our best midfielder and should be first choice. And he's still got loads of room for improvement.

I really like him, positive player, moves the ball well, gets back.
