Top finish.

Thought he played well today.

Have said before when Mourinho joined that he's a different player now to the player at Chelsea. Matured and more willing to work for the team. Almost as if he took Mourinho's criticism on board but still left, looks like he wants to prove a point now. Doesn't seem unhappy at all.

Premier League: Manchester United 2-0 Southampton - 19th August 2016

He runs a lot, gets back and does a shift to help his full back and uses the ball well. I do think Mkhitaryan looked lively though after he came on so that'll be one to watch but yeah Mata has started the season well.

As i've said before, he's a different player now to the one that was at Chelsea and it's no surprise that Mourinho likes him as a player now. It seems that despite leaving, he took Mourinho's criticism on board.

Premier League: Manchester United 4-1 Leicester City - 24th September 2016

Top goal.

Thought he was superb today, took his opportunity in that central role. Thought the front 4 was pretty fluid. Ibra coming deep, Rashford played all 4 positions, Lingard and Mata both playing across that 3 behind the striker.

Europa League: Manchester United 4-1 Fenerbahce - 20th October 2016

He was good. His first for the first penalty and the pass for the second penalty were both superb.

League Cup: Manchester United 1-0 Manchester City - 26th October 2016

Has to start from now on, we play much better with him in the side. I'd play him on the right of a front 3, i'm not a fan really of 10s, very easy to mark them out of games as position is fixed and most play with back to goal when the primary reason for them is to make passes in behind defences for strikers to run on to. Valencia can provide the width out there while Mata can come inside and create and get into scoring positions.

Was a bit of a critic of Mata's since he joined but on the whole if you were to look at our most consistent performers post Fergie, he has to be right up there. Very well taken goal last night as well as a very hard working shift.

Was thinking just that today, best signing post Fergie so that's one thing we can thank Moyes for.

Premier League: Manchester United 0-0 Burnley - 29th October 2016

I was surprised he was moved to the right, and then replaced. He was playing well.

His stats for today:

100% pass accuracy
100% take-ons
100% tackles won
50 passes
7 chances created
6 shots

Maybe the red to Herrera had something to do with him being withdrawn. I agree he was playing well.

I am sure that was the case. I wouldn't have taken him off though. I think I would actually taken zlatan off for Carrick and let rashford work the channels.

I agree. Maybe rashford would have buried that chance right at the end.

Sadly to me that just reinforces the point that Jose has his favourites and if you aren't in that it doesn't matter how well you play you could be hauled off!

All managers are a bit like that. Much easier to drop or replace a player the last manager brought in than one you have brought in yourself

Currently the front runner for our POTY? Valencia, Herrera and Bailly (pre-injury) the others putting their hand up for it. Hopefully Pogba and Ibra have more of a say on it.

His numbers are great and his all round performance is often very good now. Just lacks that pace to be an automatic pick. Great to have him as an option though.

Not an uncommon performance for Mata, where a goal or an assists masks an indifferent performance. It's a good habit!

Premier League: Manchester United 2-0 Watford - 11th February 2017

He played well. His movement was excellent and he was unlucky not to have an assist or two to his name.

Nice little cross for Mkhitaryan's goal
