I'd definitely sell, he's ok for this team at the moment but not the world class CB we need.If it's true, we should sell, assuming it's 50m ish
Personally if we are cutting one I’d cut Varane he’s on mega wages and can’t be trusted to stay fit but on paper he is the better player.
Maguire I think has just been beaten down by the pressure at Utd he can’t catch a break and there’s way to many people just waiting to jump on his back the moment he does anything wrong.
He would look a much better player in that Chelsea team but I’d be expecting 50m for him.
When you've got a fan base that thrives on negativity it's hard to get anyone going. Is it a surprise these players play as a shell of themselves wondering what abuse they'll get online next?
Every single player we've got is better than they're showing. At some point you've got to start considering the reasons for that.
If I was United i'd have them all off of social media, a complete media blackout. Take the stress away from them and pay the fines it would cost them.
Beeb suggesting Chelsea proposing a swap deal with Pulisic. Two birds, one stone and all that.I'd be amazed if this is true though. Could free up money for another CM or forward
I think the problem is Maguire is a good player but he's got to be in the right system and scheme. And ultimately that doesn't lend itself to the top teams who play a high line and want to press.
Ok sure... But he doesn't fit in at United with Ten Hag as manager. That's the reality.Depends on what team you're talking about. Madrid have won most of the recent champions leagues and they play a deep line and sit in.
Italy won the Euros. He settles in to that team comfortably.
There's more the one way to skin a cat.
Just had a thought on Maguire, if Fofana ends up at Chelsea for circa £85m, would Leicester City be up for offering around £60m of that money to United for Maguire. There's a lot of wins all around there.
Not sure it's a win for Maguire or Leicester to be honest not sure their fans would be thrilled for him to return. Chelsea you could argue is a sideways step for Maguire going to Leicester would be a huge backwards step one that I don't think he'd want to be taking at this stage of his career.
I get why Utd blocked it but they'd have been wise to take it seriously if Chelsea came with a serious offer just doesn't feel like he's going to be able to play the way we're now trying to play in this league.
