I only saw the highlights/goals, I'm convinced as he goes up for that ball he gets a nudge in the back, the assistant is yards behind play and doesn't see it.

He gets a bit of an arm in the back which unbalances him but not enough for VAR to get you off the hook.

The nudge was similar to the foul that the ref gave to rule out the De Ligt header.

Could argue Utd were on the wrong side of two soft fouls.

Maguire however didn’t sort his feet out to get closer to the ball he was stretching for it.

He was awful today, he was slow and laboured. He had opportunities to clear the ball for the first goal and didn’t bother to jump for the second. He and De Ligt shouldn’t be two of the three centre backs. Both are similar players, it should be one or the other. My preference is for De Ligt to be the middle centre back.

Agree. De Ligt flanked by Yoro and Mazraoui.

They might keep him as a squad player but you can’t really play him and De Ligt together unless you are going to sit deep and counter.

Wasn't his fault, it's the clown in goal you should be pouring scorn on.
Maguire has to try and jump from standing still, Dacoure has a run at it.

If anyone is a squad player it's Onana, he is effing awful and would have a job getting into a league 2 side

It wasn't just his failure to jump or block Dacoure, he was really slow getting across too.

Nah, Onana is not to blame for the second goal. Maguire was at fault.

Both things can be true.

Onana for me has bailed out Maguire with the first save. He’s got to get up then get out to that ball. Maguire sees it and just needs to get up early and dominate the situation.

By letting it drop he’s made himself a sitting duck. Doucoure might still beat him to it as he’s got the run but you have to do more than he did to at least try and stop it.

On that goal Maguire has let his man run in behind him, he’s then failed to get back to cut out the cross, allow the player to cut back inside and then just stood and then been bossed in the air.

Onana isn’t going to cut it as a number 1 we all know that but neither is Maguire.

The keeper is the last line of a defence the lines ahead of him need to do a lot more to help him.
