Hannibal Mejbri | Match Discussion Thread 2023/24

Might have added another contender to the category of great goals scored in defeats.

He's got a great chance to made a good impression with all the injuries if he can show that he has matured and lost that "hot head" side to his game he could get some chances.

I think he’s worth a go in the midfield. He’s technically good and after some of the disasters in our midfield in the last 10 years that’s a real plus.

A few misplaced passes tonight but in the last 15-20 minutes he was really good with the ball.

Think he gave the manager good food for thought tonight. Think he’ll get more minutes in the upcoming weeks and months.

Positive as well that there was no sign of the rash mad moments that plagued him during academy football.

Hopefully he’s matured as there is talent there and given the injuries there’s a chance to grab the managers attention.

His quality was indifferent for most of the match. He was very good for the last 20 minutes or so.

I think he has shown that if you have a bit of energy in midfield it makes a world of difference. Obviously you need to have the talent as well but it’s been a promising few games for Hannbal.

A lot like the youth teams he lives on the edge a bit with his fouling but I do like his enthusiasm and got some talent as well.

I think our midfield options are far better than they have been in previous years since SAF.

Yeah Scott and his pals do look an exciting group.

Surprised Hannibal hasn’t got more minutes of late. While he wasn’t spectacular in his couple of starts I thought he added much needed legs to the midfield.

Yeah it's been strange McTominay's little goal scoring run probably bumped him down the list but he did alright in the games he played, hopefully he gets some minutes against newcastle in the league cup.

Yeah I hope to see him start tomorrow night. Would love it to be Casemiro, Mainoo and Hannibal as the midfield. The experience of Casemiro with the two youthful guys alongside him.

He was a walking red card through trying to impress. Not convinced he has the quality to have a long term future at United.

It was one of the worst performances in a united shirt

What do we actually make of this kid?

Feels like a pivotal season season for him, how he does this season will probably decide if the club look to offer him a long term deal to stay or potentially try to cash in and move him on. His contracts expires at the end of this season but the club will activate the 1 year extension.

To be honest he hasn't looked that stand out a player but it's very hard to judge in the shambles that is a Utd team at the moment he's not coming in to a settled environment.

The big issue I see is a lack of maturity when his head goes he's a red card waiting to happen and in the VAR world there's no second chances he was lucky to stay on the pitch against Newcastle the other week.

To me he looks like another Periera level player who probably needs to take a step down and work his way back up to the top. He doesn't look like a guy who's going to be ready to jump straight into top level clubs at 21.

Doesn't seem to have what is required for where we want to be. Is probably at the level for where we are at.
