Was trying to sign in a few hours ago and was getting the message you are already signed-in, click 'here' to be redirected back to the forum, which I did to find I wasn't logged-in, rinse repeat

Seems ok now but it happened 3 or 4 times, anybody else had the same issue?

Something for the forums techno team to keep an eye on maybe. Stay logged-in came the cry.

Laptop - Windows 11_22H2 - Opera

Would it have killed one of you Mods to have replied to this, its not as though you do feck all else.

Anybody else getting this nonsense?

Happened the other night.

Just assume the server that hosts the site went down.

Reassuring that's it's happened to others, thanks fellas

I could understand it if I was trying to log-in to the site for the first time but it always happens when I'm on the forum in the middle of an exchange, or just switching from one thread to another, and it can happen 15-20 times a day, and it's been like that for at least a week now, it's so bloody annoying ....

I haven’t experienced the issue as I stay logged in. @Jayc1860, you login and logout have you experienced the same issue?

I had started staying logged-in but noticed over the last few weeks when I open my browser and visit the sight there are no notifications, I have to refresh the page several times to see them, plus there was no notification you'd posted the ^above^ till I tried to log-out again, just weird.

Might be an issue with my browser mind. But I doubt it,

What browser do you use?

I suspect you didn’t get a notification for the above because you were in the thread when I posted my message so had ‘seen it’.

Opera

Remember being on RedCafe a few years ago and suggested that to somebody as an explanation for not receiving a notification, but in this instance I was in the Man City thread at the time you sent your post.

I have no problems logging in and out.

Just read it more thoroughly - I have none of these problems whilst doing anything. I think it's time to change to Google Chrome Justy.

On a completely seperate issue, that's not really an issue I don't think, I just don't know where else to post it..... why am I unable to create threads or send private messages?

Thanks for the advice, but I wouldn't recommend GC to my worst enemy.

Think it's still ranked as the best all-round web browser out there. Used it for a very long time without any issues...

It must have done something seriously bad to you for that level of hate...lol

For functionality it's one of the better ones, but it eats up data and over time slows your computer right down by opening every file you've ever opened in the background every single time you open the browser.

Yeah, that's true.

I do wonder if it's something to do with tracking your every move too.

Is this still an issue?

No, it's been fine since I brought the issue up. Cheers.

Did get a strange message a week or so ago though, saying I couldn't log-in to S.E.A until I updated my Twitter preferences or similar, which was strange because to my knowledge S.E.A shouldn't know I have a twitter/'X' account, but I refreshed the page and all was well.

Good job I'm not paranoid :D

Board at 14:16 has 229 guests. That has to be either hackers trying to bring down the place for good, or an error. Most I've ever seen is lower than 50.

Only 20 were bots btw.

WTF

Have a word with the Boss man can you Bob, see if the platform can have a bit more flexibility with their cookie settings, you shouldn't need to accept all cookies these days to view what I presume is a 'X' formerly known as Prince Twitter which comes with it's own set of cookies. TIA

It’s a GDPR/privacy requirement. For further information: Cookie usage. What option do you select when prompted about privacy - ‘accept all cookies’ or ‘reject optional cookies’?

Reject optional cookies, which is a recent addition for the site, still short of the reject all cookies option that became law late last year though.

Most websites, or more and more do offer that option now, with no obvious drop off in quality/accessibility.

And I must have read that 'Cookie usage' page a dozen times since I joined the forum but still Opera isn't listed, for those who want to manage their preferences in their browser, yet Internet Explorer is, and nobody has used that for 5 years!
