He’s one of the one’s I would keep, changing the amount of players they want to this summer is not going to be easy and we’ll still be stuck with some deadwood, plenty need moving on before him.

as if he waits until after the Euros, he'll be discussing it now woth his agent. I guess waiting to see who the next manager is

I think he'll already know what's out there for him in the summer.

Were a few rumours of Saudi interest in him last summer and if they're chucking huge sums at him he might be tempted by that.

Hard to see any of the other big boys going for him.

I'd be fairly certain he'll stay but he must be frustrated at the way things are going at Utd and all the uncertainty around the club over the last 18 months with the takeover.

He has contributed to the poor form. I expect more from him than he's given and shown over the last 18 months

I'd say since that Liverpool game in the cup he's really shown up I agree up to that point he'd been well below his best and had been for some time.

In the last 2 months though I think he's dragged us through games pretty much on his own but he can't stop the defensive mistakes that are costing us silly goals. He's clearly playing through injuries as well.

The issue as always is when Bruno isn't playing well who else steps up and takes over?

There’s little doubt Fernandes is still your best player. And he’s a hugely talented player who can produce magical moments and win games / points for his team.

But I think he’s a moments player much like a lot of the United attacking players. A player who works in moments rather than helping to control and manage games. So if United want to progress as a team I think at some point they need to move on from him. But that’s not going to be this summer so they need to figure out how to get the most out of him whilst limiting the mistakes that hurt the team.

There's nothing wrong with "moments" players if you've got a team built around them that's how City accommodate De Bruyne, he doesn't run the game for 90 minutes but he provides the magic in moments that open up games with a killer pass or a goal out of nothing. You need these players in your team otherwise you just get Van Gaal football where you knock it around for 90 minutes without going anywhere.

The question going forward at Utd is do we rebuild around Bruno or do we sacrifice him and build from scratch. I can see the case for moving on we've had the best years out of him if there's a chance to land a big transfer fee and a player we feel can come in to replace him within a new team they have to think about it.

I don't think he is disciplined enough in his positioning. And I don't think he sets a very good example attitude wise.

I think if a coach could set a team up to allow for him, it would be a good thing. But not as captain

You cannot just sell everyone and start again because you can end up with a disjointed team ala Chelsea.

I would definitely prefer him to stay because he’s a quality player. Our midfield has been pretty non-existent since he arrived, so would be good to get a highly functioning midfield behind him because I think that would help him no end.

A lot is said of his attitude and I don’t like it either at times but he’ll always be a bit moany so I don’t fixate on that point as much as others.

Not sure a bloke who's played centre back in extra time pretty much on 1 leg and is currently playing with a broken hand is setting a bad example with his attitude. I don't think there's a player who consistently works harder than him in every game.

Yeah his little tantrums are annoying and when it's at the ref it is unlikely to help the team. If there were better options for captain then he probably wouldn't have it.

Poor most of the season, but that's probably down to the team. Great recently though. He should be kept, mostly due to bigger fish to fry.

He's a liability at the moment, but if we had a team to back him up I'd keep him, but take away the arm band.
Sounds a bit like he and the club would accept him to leave for the right price/club

I know he’s probably Uniteds best individual player but if you can get top money for him I think you should sell Fernandes. But it would need to be really good money.

What is really good money?

I think that would be good, get some money in.

Then maybe not sell Mount.

If it's a long term project, Bruno will be too old.

Makes sense to me.

Although as I said elsewhere, thought Saudi were targeting younger players. And why would he go there?

No amount of money is a good offer for Bruno this season, with the state of the back up. We will be in the bottom half of the table if we use Mount as our #10. 100% guaranteed.

Bruno is not irreplacable, I thought we looked better without him. We need a new start, new manager, new team. He would bring in good money to start that off

But, I also think he will be here, why would he go to Saudi at his age, nobody else would buy him.

I don't think you can just dump everyone and start from scratch you will need some of the existing players to be retained.

What's he realistically worth at his age £60m (what we paid for Casemiro) if a team was offering us £80-100m and he wanted to go you'd have to let it happen. If he's happy to stay then I think keep him.

My guess is he probably wants a new contract and these sort of stories are things being fed out by his agents to see if Utd are going to offer him one.

I do like Bruno, I don't like him under ETH, he's not disciplined enough. Under a new manager I think he would improve.

What I mean by getting rid of him seems a good option is:

We are going to need to build a team, that maybe can compete in 4 years did Sir Jim say? So he'll be what 32? same age as Cas is now. So then we will need to replace him.

As we are short of cash, there is some sense in selling him for good money to help build the squad of younger players who won't need replacing as the project reaches its climax.

It makes good sense if the money is right

Experience can win out too, I don't think you need to have a set of youngsters, and each player should always be assessed upon their own individual worth to a team. Right now Bruno's creativity in the team far outways the need for more cash.

AC Milan under Ancelotti were dinosaurs, but the best team around.

Point is Bruno may still be very capable at 32.

possibly, but I don't think he's that good that he will be missed, gives away too much possession, especially in key moments. I'd rather excellent short passes, or passing through the lines than 40 yard cross field balls from defence.

He's been excellent recently, but on the whole, pretty poor season. But he's got to have more of a football brain, play the right passes. Under a better manager who might get that into him, he might be excellent again. He just seems way off the player who arrived.

Our budget is terrible this summer, we need to sell, and he would be a good income. Especailly as we already have Mount. I think one of these needs to go.

Ancelotti is a top top manager, how we could do with him.

Best manager around for me.

I see your point, yeah.

I think the same, to get the best out of him it's going to require a new manager, and system set up to bring out all of his qualities.

Ancelotti is probably my favourite manager, after SAF ofc. ;p

Even in a rebuild we can't just absolutely rip everything apart and sell your best player. It is crucial to the rebuild that we finish in the Champions League for the money to allow the rebuild to happen. We can't take many consecutive seasons of finishing 6th

Without Bruno we are not scoring goals. He's the one world class creative player we have. You've got young players that need experience around them. You aren't replacing Bruno with Mount you'd have to go and spend every penny you made it make it happen which makes it a pointless sale.

Everyone says about Bruno and his attitude and having a poor season. Everyone goes on about Odegaard and how good a season he's having. Opinions severely impacted by the squads they play in. But check their stats in particular defensively. Bruno has been every bit as good as Odegaard this season and selling him would be a tragedy to moving forwards as a club. We are not a better side without him.

This summer we will likely lose Varane, Evans, Casemiro, Erikson, Martial. It is absolutely crucial we retain some players that have been there done it and can offer guidance to the younger players as much as for his impact on the pitch.

Money shouldn't be as much of an issue this offseason if we've 'only' got £100m that's shocking. We will be kicking £1m a week off the wage bill and our FFP is at a better position than last summer where it was an issue.

What's Bruno been and done? as Keane said, he's won nothing.

As I said, I don't mind him staying under new management, but I can see why it would tempting to the club.

He's not as good or crucial as you think, and not as bad as I think.

Miguel Delaney reporting that Bayern and interested and he's open to it.

I could totally understand why he might be few up with the club starting another rebuilding process.

He's at the age where he needs to be thinking about winning now not in 2-3 years.

These sort of stories make me think he wants out, certainly feels like the ground is being prepared for a move.

He's 29 now Utd must feel they can recover £50m plus for him.

I can see why, sit through another rebuild at 29.

And if they keep ETH on for a bit, another year before it even starts.
