Man United make €28m Italian winger bid, summer move for 22 year old wanted
Gazzetta dello Sport have a big feature in their Thursday edition leading up to Fiorentina's match at White Hart Lane tonight against Tottenham Hotspur. It's a crucial evening for the Florence club, and several players will need to shine if they're going to progress to the next round of the Europa League.
One of Fiorentina's current bright stars is Federico Bernardeschi and Gazzetta have a section on the 22 year old attacker. It's explained that Sir Alex Ferguson was interested in the player when he was a youngster coming through the ranks, but Bernardeschi and his family decided he'd be better off staying in Italy.
Then, from nowhere, Gazzetta dello Sport nonchalantly throw in that Manchester United have made a €28m bid for the player ahead of the summer transfer window. The offer was apparently made 'in recent days', and surprise-surprise, Fiorentina aren't interested.
The Serie A club don't want to think about selling Bernardeschi but Gazzetta dello Sport suggest a figure of €40m could change things.
