Hopefully we will have a couple of players back for this one, Hojlund being the critical one. However wouldn’t want to rush him back before he is fully ready.

If we give Liverpool as many chances as we did against Everton then we will be ripped apart but I think ETH will be a lot more cautious with his tactics in this one.

Any United vs Liverpool game is a special one so looking forward to this. And if we can stop them on their quest for four trophies then happy days!

Expect it'll be similar tactics to the game earlier in the season just sit deep and frustrate then try and grab something on the break.

It's painful but we're a long way off this lot this season we can't really expect to go blow for blow with them.

Their midweek game is almost a non event at home and already up 5-1 after the first leg means they'll probably be able to rest some players. Some of their lot seem to be coming back now think I read they're expecting Konate back for this one.

For us Hojlund, AWB and Maguire I believe are close to a return. Hojlund and AWB you'd expect to go straight into the starting XI but Maguire might find himself on the bench given the recent performances of Evans and Varane, they're made for this backs to the walls type game.

Last game before the international break so whatever happens here the feeling will linger for a long time as there's no real chance to move on from it. Would be extra nice to knock Klopp out of his last FA Cup challenge.

Traditionally Q-F's are poor games but I think this will buck the trend, expecting United roared on by a crowd close to fever pitch to just pip Liverpool 3-2 in an absolute classic ...

ONANA
KAMBWALA VARANE MAGUIRE DALOT
CASMIRO MAINOO
ANTONY BRUNO GARNACHO
RASHFORD

McTOMINAY and HOJLUND to come on as subs, and score.

I'm both looking forward to this and dreading it at the same time. Pretty sure the last time out we got taught a lesson in every way, although they didn't score, on another day it could have easily been 10-0.

34 shots they had... after having a quick look. Pretty scary. Don't see us surviving if that's the case again.

It's the cup, so I'm more hopeful than usual, I think on occasion it can massively raise a players game. Let's hope it's the case for us, as we'll need it.

Would you prefer to win the Cup game or the league game in a few weeks? Obviously we want to both matches…

Cup game.

Trophies to me are still more important than finishing 4th or 5th.

Just want to show up and not get humiliated like we did at City.

I'd take a decent performance

If we show up and go toe to toe we lose. I want that to be our philosophy too, but with this team and it's ineptitude at playing well for 90 mins, or just plain not showing up we can't do that, and especially not against the top 3. Hojlund certainly won't be up to speed, and might not even feature. Maguire the same, and Bruno hasn't really made any type of mark this season. Garnacho is beginning to look very tired, and Mainoo was off the pace in his last game. Too much going against us for a proper scrap.

I'd say dig in again, get people behind the ball and try and frustrate them. We've got a better chance to do that against Liverpool than City, and it worked for 60+ mins against the latter. It's the only way we can go.

As dumb questions go it's right up there, nobody is gonna say they'd prefer it if we won in the League, nobody.

I have come to the conclusion that a lot of our players do not have a footballing brain as they can see what is going on but never seems to think about and change things on field.

How many is a lot? Luke Shaw, Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay fall into that category, not sure who else though.

AWB probably, don't agree with the other two.
Watch the next time they play. Maguire, he has the ball and is looking around to pass. He delays it always and will go sideways. There is usually a midfield player in space. Maybe he is scared of making a bad pass? I do not know. Dalot does not seem to lift his head up and see players moving. He seems predetermined to do what he is going to do.

Not sure it's me that needs to watch the next time they play, Maguire has more successful passes into the attacking areas than any other CB in the Premier League.

Anyho, not the thread to continue this ....

John Brooks will referee Manchester United's FA Cup quarter-final vs Liverpool. Tim Robinson on VAR

No idea if that's good news or not, probably best I don't have an opinion anyway.

Evans is apparently a doubt for tomorrow.

What's going on in training?

That's one in, one out. ;/

Evans played the last 2 games injured and didn’t last the 90 minutes in either.

Guessing there’s a limit to how much you can soldier on and now he has no choice but to sit out as others are fit.

Mount will apparently be on the bench for this one.

Yeah, forgot about that actually, Evans was probably due a total failure in terms of his body... he is getting on a bit.

Don't know how much use Mount can be, or Maguire... or AWB... or Hojlund. We're gonna get battered aren't we?

Brazil call up a replacement for Casemiro

Mainoo and Amrabat double-pivot it is then, as it was at Anfield(0-0) in December

Casemiro won't be too much of a loss, especially in what should be a highly charged atmosphere. He'd be a red card waiting to happen and he's been quite poor all season. Still worrying that he can't be used at all though.

Going to be a tough ask this, with returning players not up to speed and people like Amrabat and Eriksen maybe starting , but having not a lot of game time too. Just don't see how we win this.

Agree, this seasons version of Casemiro is no great loss, unless Liverpool get corner after corner!

We win this if the crowd do their job from the off, and stay with the team even if we go behind

I hope I get it completely wrong but I can’t see us beating them they are in far better form atm, Rasmus is a boost though and I hope we manage to get him some quality service.
I want us to turn up and fight for every ball.

Salah is the danger, he does like to score past us.

This Liverpool kit is horrible. Reminds me of our yellow and green kit... which was also nasty.

Yeah, that's what was needed against them. Quick goal to get our confidence up.

Brilliant little bit of skill from Mainoo there just now.
