Europa League Last 16 2024/25: Real Sociedad vs Man United - Thurs 6th Mar - 17:45 KO

Unfortunately I think forums have become places for people to vent and bully rather than debate. We are all allowed an opinion and we should all be allowed to voice that opinion without being dismissive.

This isn’t aimed at any member or members this is just how I feel. The whole point in a forum is to discuss issues and things going on. With that comes opinions and people who sit on different sides. There is nothing wrong with that so let’s just debate and discuss without being dismissive please.

I watched the first half today and thought United had some openings. They created a few half chances and Bruno had an effort blocked almost on the line. But for the most part I thought it was pretty boring by both teams. United had more adventure but not a lot of creativity and Sociedad offered nothing. To me it looked like a typical Europa League game in truth. Plenty of organisation but not a lot of quality in the final third.

I wouldn't get paranoid about it, if he's following you (and me) all over the forum he's either a troll or a secret admirer.

I've got better things to do than read his anti-Amorim rhetoric, it's quite sad that he trolls posters and only has the intelligence to leave an emoji instead of a balanced argument.
Back on topic.
I thought we played some good football at times tonight, I though the penalty was a bit harsh, and wondered where they drew the VAR ref's from, did they say at the start of the game?
Yeah.

I'm going to bed, I'm not in the mood to talk about football right now.

Good night.

Fully agree. Unfortunately the forum went downhill when the ETH out crowd took over every thread with their nonsense and failed to allow balanced arguments.

I've blocked those I don't need to see from unfortunately i can still see when people quote them.

But let's make it very clear. I've been a member of this forum and others before it with the same members in many guises for 18 plus years. And it's only come with the trolling of recent members has my posting style changed. But I've stepped back from that anger. I'm wholly pissed off with the club as a whole and do believe we've taken a major step back with the current appointment.

Certain members should have been gone within 2 weeks of joining. Play the holier than thou card not realising they changed the forum.

Shoot would be a welcome addition in comparison.

I don't like to see those kinds of penalties given.

Thought we were a bit unlucky.

The club is in a real mess, it's very depressing. And currently the manager doesn't appear an upgrade on ETH, but he at least needs some players to be able to asses him properly.

I think some posters on here give their opinion, but follow it up with a bit of nastiness to other posters. Which I don't approve of.

You can have an opinion on a manager, or player, and that should be accepted as your opinion, without it spilling into nastiness. Which I think some posters are guilty of sadly.

We don't need things like ETH out crowd, or ETH lovers crowd. It's just a persons opinion. They are not a crowd.

I think it's sad that someone feels bullied on any forum. It;s just football, don't take it so seriously.

We all know the people to blame at this club aren't ETH, or Amorim, it's the Glazers. It's not the fans who thought ETH and his results were not good enough. It's not even the players, even though they are poor.

It's the Glazers.

I hope this doesn't read as picking on any one poster, most on here are guilty of it, including me. But I don't hold a grudge. Someone can post something I think is nonsense in one thread, but follow it up with a good post elsewhere.

At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter, as long as we wake up the next day

I think the substitutions show Amorin knows his squad is playing on fumes. I don't think either Yoro or Garnacho are fully fit, hence they rarely get a full 90 minutes.

If we do rest players on Sunday, with an eye on the return leg, we can expect flack from the usual punditry about disrespecting the title race, even though there's not a race to be had.

It would probably be the right thing to do.

If we had players to come in. Was there 5 on the bench last night?

And look I’ll say this… I didn’t think things could get much worse for United with ETH this year but so far it has.

But yeah I mean as a fan base you guys should all be livid with the way the club is being run and the mistakes made. That’s why you are where you are.

I think all fans are in this position but you can't be angry all the time.

It's why anti Glazer chants are heard at every game, banners are displayed at most games and there's another fan protest planned for sunday over the running of the club.

Most fans don't put the blame at the hands of the various managers we've had over the last decade it's now focused on the owners.

What makes you think we are not?
When you have a worldwide fan base which in the main isn't interested in the history of the club, and doesn't care who owns it as long as they can buy shit from the megastore and watch them on some pay per view channel, a few thousand fans boycotting OT, or waving banners is going to have as much effect as putting teaspoonful of water in the ocean and expecting to see it rise.
The Glazers have totally ignored every fan protest since they took over, they are not going to suddenly say, Oh dear, we've made a mistake, lets sell up.
Sadly the only way to get rid of them is relegation and I mean a couple of levels, you have to get rid of that worldwide fan base that is literally feeding the Glazers

It's borne out of sheer frustration with our current plight. Things are almost at rock bottom, yet the Glazers are still here. We all feel utterly helpless in finding a solution to stop the sustained harm caused by continued Glazer ownership.
