Actually, this season, I did think top was possible. Chelsea will be up and down with new manager.
 
I don’t think that result changes things either way.

If they don’t think he’s the guy and they can get someone better they’ll sack him

De Ligt was a fine addition but fine is not what you needed. Mazouri was a good signing but not a worldie. Zirkzee may come good but he’s a long way off it. Ugarte can’t get in ahead of Eriksen right now.

You think he wanted to pay £90m he doesn't decide the fee. You're just a blinkered fool that doesn't understand how football works.

Fees aren't on the manager you utter pleb.

We've had success. Hes the first manager to win two trophies in his first two seasons.

No laughable is people that can't grasp its early in the season. We aren't going to finish 14th ffs it's embarrassing how stupid our fan base is.

I don’t think it’s entitled to expect the team to be a lot better than it currently is.

In a couple of games we probably got less than we deserved but that’s football.

Only Southampton have scored fewer goals.

If they don't sack him I worry about their decision making. We cannot put up with another poor season and trot out it's a process.

Even if it is a process, we should be seeing some positives.
 
I guess a positive is more clean sheets and less shots on our goal. But the lack of ruthlessness in attack is worrying - that is more down to their decision making than the manager though.
 
4 clean sheets out of 7 though in the league. Not saying it’s amazing but it’s a step forward on a pure defensive point of view.

3 wins
4 draws
3 defeats
16 scored (there's 1 game that does some heavy lifting in that stat)
12 conceded

The wins are against Barnsley and 2 teams in the bottom 3.

Add that on to last season and it really does feel like curtains.

After the break this is the run of games we've got before the final break in November

Fenerbahce (a)
West Ham (a)
Leicester (h) - League Cup
Chelsea (h)
PAOK (h)
Leicester (h) - league

There are plenty of winnable points there for whoever is in charge feels like a run where we really need to cash in if this season is going to turn a corner if we keep stumbling through a run of games like that then we'll never close the gap.
 
Worst ever start to the Premier League season after the worst ever Premier League finish.
Seems a pretty easy decision to me he has to go and now its a good time in the International break.
I cant see how its going to be worse under Ruud until they find an elite manager who is available.

He's part of the team that is failing at the moment if ETH goes then all his boys go with him and that includes Ruud.

You can't put in an interim this early in the season if we are making the change then a new manager needs to be in straight away.
 
I disagree, if the manager they want isn't available, then an interim is the way forward.

It just needs a change. There are plenty of cases where an assistant comes in and changes things.

All I know is, ETH must go now.

We dont know the relationship between Ruud and ETH they could be disagreeing on a lot of things, yes its a gamble what new manager appointment isnt? theres no guarantees in football especially with United it would seem.
I just dont see us getting anywhere under ETH now he`s losing the players they look defeated.

Ruud was brought in to coach the forwards god knows what he`s making of this at the moment.
 
Interim is just writing off another season like we did under Ralf, an interim isn't going to get us anything out of this season we'll just drift through games and end up mid table.

If we are changing it then change it properly the idea of binning him and putting in his assistant to me just feels pointless.

It was ETH who selected Ruud as his assistant and I don't think they'd agree to work together if they didn't share the same vision for the way the team should play.

Who said he's there to coach the forwards? He's there to coach the team we have no idea day to day what he does and if he's any good at it.

Weirdly it still feels like the players are with him they don't look like a side who's given up they just look drained of confidence the effort is still there.

I do agree that we're going nowhere that's why I just feel if we're making the change then it needs to be a clean break with ETH and his assistants all going which includes Ruud.

And this season isnt being written off under ETH? do you really think he`s going to pull this around?
A change can have a dramatic effect if everyone is on board, look at the players faces and body language under ETH they look really pissed off.
I read at the time that Ruud was brought in to help the forwards, I didnt imagine it.
