Dorking 24/25

Another outrageous game yesterday. Away to second.

Dominated for 40 minutes. Then conceded 2 in 3 minutes. 2-0 down.

Grabbed one back before half time. 2-1.

After the half we come out like a team possessed. Scored 2 in 2 mins both disallowed.

Then we scored 3 goals in 3 minutes 57th-60th to go 4-2 up.

They got one back and it was back to the wall for 20 minutes. Finished 4-3

Missed the game tonight because my partner made plans for us to watch her friends perform.

1-1 draw against a team that had 10 men for over an hour.

From what people are saying a bit of a nothing game really.

But Camp makes it 3 goals in 2 games since his return.

that's my imagination in overdrive :D

An unsual routine win for Dorking Saturday.

4-0 away to Cheltenham. Charlie Carter back in the squad whilst currently going through a personal period you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy with his baby in ICU. The fans were shocked to see him back in the match day squad and pretty much just sang his name for 90 minutes.

He didn't take long to make an impact. 4 minutes in and he's got on the end of a cross to put us 1 up. He didn't celebrate. Then on the 19th minute he got on the end of a knock down from a corner and made it 2. After half time he ended up moving on top in a lone striker* role which isn't his position and completed his hatrick in the 70th minute with a nice composed finish when one on one.

Briggs added a 4th just before the final whistle.

*Dampener on the day is it looks like Alfie Ruthorford is out for the season. Made a strong block and they think he's done his MCL. Is going for scans today.

We've now won 3 or our last 4. Up in to 5th. 2 points off of top. But Welling in 1st have 2 in hand on most and Truro in second have a game in hand.

Away to Slough tomorrow night and then the FA Trophy the weekend.

Been a while since i've posted here. Our injury woes appear to be behind us. McShane and Taylor have made their season debuts.

12th Nov - Lost 3-2 away to Slough. They took the lead quickly and doubled it. 2-0 down within 15 and never really in the game.

23rd Nov - Drew 1-1 with Enfield. The only thing I remember about this game is the weather. I have never got so drenched. I would have been dryer had I just jumped in a swimming pool fully dressed. Didn't hang around for a beer after and got straight home to get dry.

25th Nov - A quick turn around with the Saturday/Monday game and it was without a doubt the performance of the season. Put 7 passed Hemel Hempstead with 6 different goalscorers.

Very odd stadium atmosphere. Was no announcements and the lights kept going off.

30th Nov we drew 0-0 with Truro who were second in the league. Foukes made one good save for us other than that it was very much a nothing game. They came happy with the draw and sat in and protected the point.

Where we are out of both cups we've had quite a bit of rest recently as there have been cup weekends. As it stands we are 7th in the league after 21 games. 4 points off of top (Which is Truro as the point put them top). Who have a game in hand.

5 fixtures since the last update. 3 of our December games were away and I missed all of them with Christmas.

Won 2-1 away to Chippenham. Briggs getting a second half double after being 1-0 down at the break.

Won 5-0 away to Chesham. A second half Alfie hatrick after a first Muit brace.

Lost 2-1 to Worthing on boxing day at home. Honestly it was the worst refereeing performance I've ever seen. It was a female ref and she's usually very good but I think she was still feeling the effects of the Christmas day wine. Let everything go all game completely lost control and then gave them the softest of penalties.

Beat Bath 1-0 at home. Took an early lead through Prior and then it was a nothing game really. No team created anything.

Beat Weymouth 3-2 away. Rhys Murphy with a brilliant strike on the half volley from just outside the box late on securing all 3 points.

The above results leave us 5th in the table 4 points off of top with 20 games to go.

Looking at the fixtures list I think I will miss Hornchurch next week but should make every other game of the season.

Today is Dorkings 1000th game.

Lost 3-1 at home last weekend to Weybridge. 0-0 at half time then they scored a better of a free kick.

I missed most of the second half after their goal as my stomach flared up and felt like I was being stabbed from inside but apparently they outplayed us all half.

1-0 Win away to Hornchurch yesterday. Briggs with the goal. Then we pretty much held on for 70 minutes a real defensive performance not what we are known for.

Importantly 3 of the teams above us lost yesterday including the top 2. We are in 6th. But the gap to first is 3 points. For those that aren't aware. First place is automatic promotion. 2nd to 7th is the playoffs. Our gap to 8th is now 5 points.

The top 4 are all level on points.

3-0 win at home to Aveley last night. Missed football under the lights midweek at Meadowbank this season! All our midweek games have been away.

Penalty in the first half and I turned to someone and said if Prior Panenkas this we riot. But after the last one he's been taken off pens. Milson took it.

Second was a lovely worked team goal with Prior slotting in to an open net.

Jordan added the third late on. Result moves us up in to third.

Drew 2-2 this evening. Gutting notification coming through to let me know they equalised in the 89th minute was gutting.

Was the rearranged NYD game. Won't miss another the rest of the season.

We won 2-0 against Salisbury. Remain top of the league but a lot of teams with games in hand. Net 4th at the moment assuming all win their games in hand.

Alfie got a first half double first from close range and the other the edge of the box. In a game that we were in complete control of all game. Don't remember Harrison making a decent save.

We go again Tuesday night and are the second in form side in the league. A real big push now to get us back up in to the National League

I made the most of it and took a couple of days off of work. Salisbury is a lovely little town and recommend checking out the Haunch of Venison stunning little pub and apparently where Churchill and Eisenhower had their meetings prior to the D-Day landings.

1-0 Win tonight. 93rd minute winner from Rhys Murphy. Don't think they had a single shot all game and we were discussing how these are the sort of games that cost us. Then I think Charlie shot from 18 yards it bobbled about a bit and Rhys jumped on it to get the winner.

Other results went in out favour too. Big night. Awful game. 3 points.
