Firmly established now as our first choice right back, so the important thing is backing up last season with another solid season.

I accept you can get caught upfield out of position, twice today, but the lack of desire to sprint back and inability to sense the danger is unforgivable.

Just seen the replay of their first goal his chasing back is a disgrace.

It’s the first couple of minutes there’s no excuse not to be sprinting back, he’s barely in the box by the time the cross goes in.

This lad has improved massively in the last few years but he’s still capable of some really dumb stuff.

To be honest this has been a bit of an epidemic in our player roster the last however many years. It seems to be a ‘oh someone will probably sort it out’ mentality. There is a distinct lack of players taking responsibility.

Really like how Dalot has progressed over the last couple of years but like you say he can still be very poor in some situations.

It’s such a basic defensive thing no matter what your position, even if you sprint you might not get there but you have to do it when the ball is turned over.

The two forwards leaving the ball to each other as well was bad enough.

His defending on either side always leaves us exposed at the back post.

Who was he trying to throw the ball to that led to Brentford’s goal? It was shocking stuff.

Increasingly becoming frustrated by Dalot. He suffers from lapses of concentration and is inconsistent in the attacking third.

You could forgive Dalot for going on forward runs and leaving his defensive position if it led to something on a regular basis, but it doesn’t, he’s a liability.

You won’t challenge the top of the table with him playing every week.

You can’t switch off like he does it costs us so many goals every season.

Pretty sure people were using Dalot as a trump card for ETH developing players

He has developed under ETH but doesn’t mean he’s brilliant.

He was useless in his first 3 or 4 years at the club under Ten Hag he’s become a good player but defensively he is still makes basic mistakes through a lack of focus.

The lack of urgency tonight to stop crosses on the right from both Dalot and Rashford was shocking.

There is no doubt he has improved from where he was under ETH. That doesn’t mean he’s still at the level required but the improvement is there.

So ETH has improved him into a crap defender who gets slagged off on here week in week out.

Good work, I can see why you thought ETH was good at developing players

Whew argumentative much!

United need to improve soon to get you in a better mood! :p

ha

I just remember when people are mean to me, when I was right all along :p

Yes things do need to improve. My mood is ok, I have accepted this situation until the manager changes, another dead season.

Just looking for advent calendars to cheer my mood :)

There is also form to be considered.

This season Dalot’s form hasn’t been as good as it was last season.

The mistakes were not as frequent last season.

so it was nothig to with ETH then? or is his lack of form down to ETH?

Well we don’t really know do we.

I think he’s a better player than he was two years ago so credit for that goes to Dalot and ETH.

His form has dipped if we had other options he might not be starting but we don’t.

Playing 50-60 games for club and country last year is possibly a factor. As it has been for a lot of our players who went to the euros/copa

To be honest, our whole defence seems all over the show at times

and this pass from side to side winds me up, that is not what the good teams do, they do it with a purpose, not pass it between them selves for 5 mins then pump it upfield

Was clearly a tactic last night try to draw them in then go over them, it didn't really work.

in an atmosphere like that you need to kill the crowd and slowing the game down did that.

Don’t think either side played particularly well but if Dalot picks out a simple pass to either Rashford or Hojlund after making a great run we probably get the 3 points.

Just seen the miss.

He needs benching in rotten form and needs taking out of the team.

Who do we drop him for?

Maz went off injured again today.

That is the issue.

If CBs are fit I’d be move Martinez to LB and at least get Dalot back in his best position

Far too often he switches off and forgets his basic duties. He had to be alert and clear the ball today, but instead switched off and did not realise Somerville was charging in.
