Manchester United have completed a transfer on deadline day. It's not going out either, Anderson's move still isn't over the line yet. According to reports which are coming out of France, Manchester United have completed a deal to sign French youngster Dayot Upamecano.

It's been found by the guys at Get French Football News and they say that there are reports in France the Valenciennes player is set to be a Manchester United one in a deal which could be worth up to €900k. The starting price is €450k but that will double depending on the success of the 16 year old.

Upamecano is a France U17 international and has also represented the country at U16 level. He's obviously not in the Valenciennes first team yet but considering the price the Ligue 2 side are said to have got, he must be pretty good and highly rated.

Club covering website VAFC Power dub the central defender the 'great hope' of the club and they reckon the deal is done. La Voix Du Nord rumoured the deal at the weekend. We're trying to find more on it right now, check back soon for any updates.

VAFC : le transfert du jeune Upamecano à Manchester United coince - La Voix du Nord

Translation:

The defender Dayot Upamecano, 16, is still Valenciennes. While the Valenciennes had agreed with Manchester United for the transfer of this great hope for compensation of 450,000 euros (900,000 euros expected in total with bonus), transfer flipped in the last hours of the transfer window.

The young player, who he seems changed council is on his side failed to reach agreement with the English club. It is continuing its path with VA, with the ability to take over the management of Manchester or another club this summer.

Dayot Upamecano is also reconvened for France U17 in the company of another great hope of VA, the goalkeeper Nicolas Kocik, 16, son of Bolek, Valenciennes legend. Both youth training center will play two friendly matches against Belgium on 17 and 19 February.

Got around to watching the under 17's final between France and Germany and I was impressed with this guy. He is a huge unit for his age and is very quick. He looked comfortable on the ball and made a few good tackles. France only conceded 2 goals in the whole championship which is pretty impressive.

We would have a hell of a lot of good centre back talents around that age if he does join, but that would be no harm pushing each other on and raising levels further again.
Seems to be a lot of good centre backs at that age level in general, as I've mentioned in another thread Reece Oxford of West Ham looks a quality player in the making.

Info FM : pourquoi l?OM peut oublier Upamecano

Translation:

Despite the failure of a qualification in the Champions League, Vincent Labrune is determined to maintain its young talent recruitment policy with strong potential. The only difference is that OM can not pay € 12 million, as it had done for Thauvin, and must target elements at just under said potential. This is the case of Dayot Upamecano (17 years), huge tricolor hope of Valenciennes, which we have already spoken several times. Central defender, the recent European Champion U17 arouses considerable covetousness since the last winter transfer window. But when it was announced close of England and Manchester United, he is still at Valenciennes.

According to France Football , OM therefore trying to enjoy it, because Marcelo Bielsa has checked the name of the young man, integrating it to its list of desired players. Reportedly, the interest of Marseille does exist, but already goes back several weeks. Vincent Labrune contacted Valenciennes to learn, but the issue is complicated. Indeed, everything is actually already completed with Manchester United according to our information. The Mancunian club holds an agreement in principle with the player, who has only one desire: to join the Red Devils. Manchester City's interest was quickly extinguished, while Juventus has met the wishes of the defender, despite a huge sum proposed.
Why then Manchester United will not hurry it not to settle the case with VA? The English club expects Northern leaders spend watching DNCG next Tuesday. It will not help to bail VA accounts through this transfer, especially because he knows he has a huge advantage over all competitors thanks to the agreement with the player. The case should therefore not be finalized in the coming days.
