Hard to see him being more than an impact sub, I suspect if there were offers for him the club wouldn’t stand in his way.

Aren’t going to get a massive fee for him but I think he should move on.

Turkey I reckon.

It’s the ex premier league player graveyard.

They can pay big wages due to low taxes from memory.

Not sure what their rules are regardling his defibrillator.

I like Eriksen, think he did well for the club, but yes, time to move him on

Think it's fair to say he shocked us all with his last performance. I still don't see him playing a big part in the team but if he can come in and do that every now and again he's worth having around.

I like Eriksen

I only saw the goals, but defensively Burnley were awful, I assume they were awful all over. So wouldnt read too much into it.

2 good games for him though

last year we struggled against these teams, now we are seeing them off comfortably

They should not renew his contract,

Good to see him playing well but the club has got to invest serious money into that midfield this summer.

Eriksen out, Gomes in?

I like Gomes but not sure he is what we need. I’d like to see him up against a real top side and see how well he handles it.

I want us to add some power to that midfield, they obviously need to be able to play too but it needs some running physical force added.

He left on a free didn't he? Can't see us paying the required money to get him back.

Gomes! no thanks, I'm not impressed with him at all

Eriksen is arguably our best player this season, but that;s not saying much really.

I don't mind offering him a new deal, but we need to be strengthening that area and dumping him to the bench. Mind you, big money is needed up front

We have a 1 year option on Eriksen.

He is on big money which is likely to be a factor they consider reported around £200k a week.

Longer term I think Mainoo will move forward as more of a number 10 so the proper midfield looks really empty.

Eriksen always felt like a square peg in a round hole.

I reckon we need 3 centre mids this summer.

200 doesn't seem that much for our best player this season, when you consider what others are earning.

Mainoo could learn a bundle from that guy.

Don't get me wrong, no way he should be in our first 11.

Best outfield player ;)

I just think to move forward you need to buy quality that moves Eriksen down to 4th or 5th choice and at the slot £200k a week is a big luxury.

Club is cutting costs all over the place I think he will have to keep up the current form all season to stand a chance of getting that extra year.

Getting Casemiro out the door is probably a bigger priority.

Some big work to do in midfield ideally in January but certainly in summer.

He is on a free this summer as his contract expires.

Seems a bit of a no brainer then. Get the lad back. Was gutted when he decided to leave. Wonder how interested he would be in a return though.

I wouldn't be renewing Eriksens contract. He may have performed okay this season but let's see what he's doing in January. We know once the fixtures get deep in he can't do 90 minutes and for that we can't be paying someone 200k. We need to be making that midfield younger with legs. Not keep those whose legs are going around.

The problem is, to bring players in you need money, and we need that money being spent on a striker

I don’t watch enough French football to say how good he is. Was on the bench in CL last night but Lille did make a lot of changes for that game.

Would Gomes be a starter? I like what I saw with England but it wasn’t against top opponents who could put pressure on him.

I can see the appeal he made the right choice to go at the time it’s made him a better player.

Would give the squad better depth but they’ve got Collyer, Gore and Fletcher who might get a chance to step up.

I think the squad is crying out for some 24-26 quality in there prime to really make that midfield competitive

And a midfielder and a left back and some wingers.

They really really need Hojlund to kick on this season.

he picks up a few injuries, a striker is a priority above all else.

You don't win games if you don't score.

I wouldn’t renew Eriksen’s contract, he is having a good season so far but I feel the midfield needs freshening up and for me Casemiro and Eriksen both need to go.

I would bring Gomes back on a free, it would beef up the squad options. However would he want to come back? He might well know he wouldn’t be first choice so that might not appeal especially he is now broken into the England squad. I wonder if Tuchel will continue to pick him? He was clearly a Carsley favourite from the U21’s.

I feel like people are hyping Gomes, but not actually looking at him play.

I bet Madrid, City, Barca, PSG, Bayern etc won't be in for him, even on a free

I think we have to accept we are only going to attract the players they don’t want.

What we need to do is find the hidden gems they overlook. At the moment unless we pay huge wages we aren’t going to compete with them.

Being a squad player still means you’ll start plenty of games and come off the bench most weeks if you play well.

Does he get talked about over in France @Mr C?

I tend to agree if he wasn’t from our academy we probably wouldn’t get linked.

I don’t think Gomes is being hyped but just an awareness that he’s available on a free so would be a good option. Especially with profitability rules you have to box a little smarter when it comes to signings. Would I go and spend £50-60m on him? Probably not but for a free I don’t see an issue. He has shown enough for Lille and little snippets for England that he could be a good smart acquisition.

I think this summer Utd have got to replace Casemiro and Eriksen with 2 top quality midfielders. That is going to cost a lot of money.

Gomes to me would be a 3rd signing to bulk out the options but everyone in the squad will be treated as an equal. If you are in the team and playing well it’s up to the others to take your spot.

He's not spoken of here, and I think if Carsley wasn't the England manager he wouldn't be there either.

He's nothing like the type of player we need either, and absolute waste of time if we got him

I do wonder about England and Carsley and whether that was a bit of a one off pick and maybe he won’t get a look in under Tuchel, however he did perform well.

Also I think foreign leagues are a little bit more accessible now and knowing about players. There a few Lille players I’ve heard good things about like David and Zhegrova - I would add Gomes to that list as well.

I don’t think it would be a waste of time to beef out the squad when guys like Eriksen and Casemiro will be gone. We are very light in the centre of midfield. I think eventually guys like Gore and Fletcher will come into the reckoning but that could be over a couple of years.
