I saw something today wheer they have been allowed to break rules by selling hotels to their owners.

This cannot be right surely. Think city will have a case now

Not sure Chelsea have not broken any rules from the reporting I've read, clubs are allowed to sell assets they own to other parties to generate revenue. If deals like that are not allowed under the PSR rules then the revenue generated would just be struck out regardless of who they sold it to.

Assuming it's allowed the deal will be assessed under the third party transaction rules though and means tested so if they've been sold at a fair market value then that will be within the rules and Chelsea can book that as revenue. If they have inflated the value by selling to another company they own then the value of that sale will be marked down to an appropriate figure for the purpose of PSR. I don't believe the league have ruled on this sale yet to say if it was fair market value or not.

What it also means is that going forward Chelsea cannot use the revenues generated by those hotels in their accounts as they are no longer club assets.

The third party transaction rules are the ones City are challenging, this is actually a really good example of why these rules need to be in place.

As a Chelsea fan I'd be a little bit worried about your owners separating the clubs long term assets from the club though that's a potentially very dangerous road to go down.

On Tosin think he's a good signing they need someone to replace Silva not saying he's anywhere near his class but they've obviously got very little room to play with when it comes to signings so picking up a free transfer with premier league experience is a good move.

Gallagher is for sale apparently, spurs and villa after him
I think we should bid if the price is right

He's all profit for them, which is why he's for sale

I like him but don’t think he’s what we are after.

He would be another Mount £50m spent on a player who doesn’t really improve our starting XI. Chelsea need to sell but they won’t sell cheap.

I think Utd have got to be looking for players that are better than him.

Chelsea are stupid to sell him but their overspending probably forces them into it.

I see they’ve been up to some PSR shenanigans with Villa by selling each other youth team players.

Me thinks these rules need to be reviewed to stop this nonsense happening.

Yep it’s farcical. Haven’t even heard of Omari Kellyman but now he’s worth £24m!

Signed Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester for £30m.

I think that’s a good signing, not sure he will be a starter but gives them a bit more depth, I’m guessing he’s the Gallagher replacement.

Seems more like a prison sentence to me. Especially when you consider the destination.

It's a loophole to get round ffp, a few of their players are on 8 Yr contracts and it's going to come back and bite them on the arse.

Not anymore, from this summer all transfers are spread over a maximum 5 year period. That loophole is now closed to new signings.

What they are doing is locking down young players on very long contracts on sensible wages. Gives players very limited negotiation power against the club.

Palmer is reported to be on 65k a week for another 6 years.

Plenty are on 6/7/8 year contracts with Fernandez on a staggering 9 years, according to that list Caicedo`s value has almost halved.

You look at the salaries though and they aren't bonkers. They still need these players to come good but if they do then they've got top players locked into contracts on sensible wages that see them through their whole career.

The problem is how many of them are actually going to come good.

Enzo is the only one who's been put on top money on a long contract and they've struggled to get him and Caicedo to work as a partnership. Caicedo actually started to look a proper player when Enzo got injured.

They is a really good signing if they can keep him fit.

Not good news for Madueki who towards the end of last season was starting to look the part.

Palmer moving to the number 10 position next season?

They've also signed 2 new keepers this summer means they currently have 6 keepers on the books.

I read this would be the ninth keeper on their books! A couple of youngsters included in that but they definitely are stockpiling!

Neto would be a fantastic signing for them. He’s always looked a real player but has struggled with a few injuries.

He is a top player but injuries have really held him back.

Just a strange signing given they already have quality in his main position.

Chelsea have signed 10 players this summer how have they got round ffp if the 8 year contracts have been stopped? everyone else seems to buying carefully. They seem to be buying a new team every year.

Chelsea now have 52 senior players, spent nearly 1.5bn in 4 windows and haven't won any silverware for 3 years.

Despise the club, hate the fans even more with good reason but kinda like the project, buying up all the best(in their opinion)young players and hoping to mould them into a great team, just wish is was a club like Villarreal/Atalanta, who have never had two pennies to rub together, or Ajax/Sporting/Porto who are as good as anybody at identifying young talent but have to sell big every season just to survive, doing it in another League

They’ve also sold quite a few players.

In terms of FFP £1 in sales is equal to £5 in buys when it comes to selling academy players. All sale income counts straight away whereas spending is spread over 5 years. They have sold close to £400m worth of players in the last 3 summers that is what allows them to keep spending on arrivals as a lot of these sales are academy players.

The gamble here is these players gel into a top side and as they’re locked down to long deals Chelsea aren’t forced to sell or negotiate new contracts.

Flip side is if they’ve got their judgement wrong they’re stuck with them.

This deal is apparently off as the player doesn’t want the move.

Knock on effect is Atletico now need to shift Joao Felix (possibly to Chelsea) to be able to complete the deals for Gallagher and Alvarez.

Probably shorter odds on picking the lottery numbers than picking the Chelsea starting XI for the first game of the season.

Won't matter, in a few years we'll have pull on the same level as the Death Star's tractor beam.
