The one thing the group stage didn’t need is more games.

What kind of funky ass format is this? I didn’t even realise there was going to be a new format!

Takes away the beauty of the competition to be honest. The four team groups is all I’ve known!

Think the Swiss should stick to making toblerones ....
Oh I don't know, it's nice to see Young Boys in the draw - it's entertaining listening to commentators trying to find tortuous ways of saying the name of the stadium, and it is juvenile fun slipping the name into everyday conversation.

Same happens in Europa League and Conference League this season.

The only positive I see is teams no longer drop down competitions after the group stage once you are out you are out.

It's probably a lot fairer for the mid level sides.

Yeah that’s the one redeeming feature of it, as I’ve not always been a fan of teams being rewarded with a Europa place after failing in the CL.

Not sure they saw it as a reward more a punishment.

That extra round they stuck in a few years back was one of the worst ideas they've ever came up with.

Last day of the group stage.

18 games all at the same time

This new format has definitely kept it interesting right down to the last match day.

Come on Brugge, hang on in there!

Did it just make the first few games really boring though as early defeats didn’t really matter?

This last day of the season night is good fun though

Champions League Play-Off Draw

Top Half:
Brest v PSG
Club Brugge v Atalanta
City v Real Madrid
Juventus v PSG

Bottom Half:
Monaco v Benfica
Sporting v Dortmund
Celtic v Bayern Munich
Feyenoord v AC Milan

Celtic knocked out with the last kick of the game.

Seconds away from taking Bayern to extra time.

The Madrid derby is probably the stand out tie.

PSG vs Liverpool could be interesting, PSG look less likely to implode at any moment than they have done in the past. Also, with a 10 point lead in France they can probably rotate a bit more around this game than Liverpool can.

The Liverpool and PSG tie could be a tasty one.

PSG do look a better side to be honest without the likes of Neymar and Messi. They’ve got a lot of very talented young guys like Barcola and Neves.

I think Liverpool may still edge it but it will be closely fought.

Ousmane Dembele is in the form of his life at the moment as well. Always had the talent but Enrique seems to be getting the best from him for the first time since he left Dortmund.

Yeah I read a couple of weeks ago that he was on something like 18 goals in 10 games. Always been a supremely talented player but injuries hindered him but looks to be cracking it now.

Wasn’t just injuries think he just didn’t have the focus needed.

He’s sort of ended up being a bit of the senior guy in this side and seems to be thriving as a result.

Is he just having the “Rashford” season?

Sounds like they got a bit lucky there. Didn't watch the game.

Watching Madrid for the first time in a while - they're winning 1-0. It's starting to look like a good game.

Arsenal hit goal scoring form right before their visit to OT. 7-1 is crazy away from home in the CL.

I reckon they’ll score 8 at OT especially with Onana in goal!

Hopefully they've used up their quota for goals this month.

If away goals still counted you'd probably say they've wrapped that one up :D

Good game going on between PSG and Liverpool.

PSG winning this leg 0-1.

Plenty of attacking going on.

Decided not to watch last night.

Didn't want to jinx it like I did last week.

Good that they're out.

Huge result for PSG they've always been the bottle jobs in Europe.
