Champions League 2023/24: Bayern Munich vs Man United - Weds 20th Sept - 20:00 KO

If you thought United were poor yesterday, Bayern were worse at home to Neverkusen on Friday, if Boniface had had his shooting boots on Bayern would have been humiliated.
 
This is either going to be a blood bath or United are going to find a way to get a result. It could be one of those nights where they just find a way and get their season going.
 
Guess we will find out today if any of the injured players will return.

Probably best to just sit back and try to hit on the break we are going to struggle to get on the ball against a team as good as Bayern just going to need to dig in and take out chances if we want to get anything from the game.

Assuming no one is fit to return.

Appears no one is back and now AWB is out for a couple of months with a hamstring injury.
 
Think we’ll just dig in and defend deep and hope our quick frontmen can hit them on the break.

I don’t think it’ll be a pretty watch but a draw is a good result in the grand scheme of the group.
 
Mount and Varane back in training so may well make the bench.

Amrabat and Mainoo back in training but away from the group for now, so hopefully not that long before we see them.

He faces the same issues at Bayern they are the focus of intense scrutiny every day and every decision is a huge story.
 
Big decision for ETH does he try the diamond again or go back to the 4-2-3-1

Squad really is being tested to the limit when you think he’s also going to have to start 2-3 players who probably aren’t fit enough to play 90 minutes.

Just highlighting the pressure he's under at Bayern and the focus that club is under which is similar to Utd. Every little thing has the potential to become a massive story and the number of former players inside and outside the club who still make a living off Bayern creates a massive pressure.

I don't think he's won over the crowd their yet, he got very lucky with the title win last season as Dortmund bottled it on the final day and there's already a few grumbles that he's not happy with the transfers over the summer.

It's so frustrating that we get back into the champions league and get such a good game like this and we rock up with half the team missing it's just deflating.

Dalot gets absolutely rinsed by Musiala and cuts it back to an unmarked Gnabry.
 
Was playing well until the Onana error. You feel Bayern have been well below par and could up a gear in the second half.

Just pretty depressing watching us right now.
 
The onana mistake knocked it out of us

We are so fragile, but it does feel like any shot on target will result in a goal

Just poor all over the pitch really. Terrible defensively, passive and no creation in the middle. No attack to speak of
