Utd must be desperate to get him off the books and over to Saudi.

It’s a shame it hasn’t lasted longer but you just can’t see a way of this turning around unless there’s a radical change in playing style.

I think his legs are gone, and he's struggling to come to terms with that, hence some poor performances. I enjoyed him in his first season, but maybe the premier league is too fast for him.

They can't let him go without a replacement.

We're already a player light in midfield.

More likely that Rabiot ends up in turkey.

I honestly feel like if there was any interest in him by us we'd have signed him already.

Unless United need to get Casemiro off the books due to wages? If they do then maybe then they could sign Rabiot?

There's a striker knocking around on a free too, Marpial or something similar o_O

I think they've cleared more than enough off the books with the added bonus of Sancho going this summer to square up the wage bill.

Think 3 of the top 5 earners at the club last season have left and their replacements wont be on anywhere near as much money.

Casemiro is not the main issue but ETH is. There is no way he can play the game he wants to play with this current lot of players and one DM. Put Ugarte and Cas together and play either Mainoo or Bruno and then we will be a lot more solid and Cas can arrive late in the box too.

Is that really what Casemiro is known for though? His job at Madrid was to patrol in front of the defence and allow Modric/Kroos to play.

Casemiro is not a particularly good playmaker and he isn't the future of this team.

To be honest at this point I'd much rather see Mainoo given the games to develop and hopefully strike up a partnership with Ugarte. There will be games where we might need to put Ugarte and Casemiro together but I don't think it can be the plan A.

My issue really with Ugarte/Casemiro/Mainoo is out of the 3 of them none of them are a player who's going to get on the ball constantly and complete 100 passes in a game and really dictate and control the middle of the park.

That's his attitude I feel. He's a fighter.

Some of the criticism he has taken has been fair, he's had a couple of shocking games here and there, mainly at CB, but on the whole it's a bit of a witch hunt. Properly utilised he can still do a job for us.

His legs have gone. City would have won the FA Cup if Casemiro had started the match. He should be a squad player who can play the last 15-20 minutes.

We can't know what would have happened if he had of played. It's just a total unknown for me.

His legs are the issue though, I agree. I think he can do a good job of rotating in and out every few games for Ugarte or Mainoo/Bruno depending on how defensive you want to be.

Is he any slower than Mainoo?

I didn't want cas, but the stick he got vs Liverpool was crazy. Every player was giving the ball away. And there were plenty of errors after he gave the ball away

He’s not about being fast or slow, it’s about mobility.

It's funny how some people can have a pop a player but anything said against the manager they get hyper defensive.
CAS still has game, under the right formation.

Amazing how many united players don't make it into their national team isn't it

Of the ones who are fit

Onana - not due to his ability
Rashford
Casemiro
Antony

Think everyone else is with their national teams although if he was fit you could add probably add Mount to that list.

As for Cas I think he needs to play in a very defensive side where possession doesn’t matter and he is given a small area of the pitch to dominate.

Getting up and down the pitch at a decent for 90 minutes is clearly an issue for him now.

Even under a new manager I don’t see that requirement of the midfield changing.

Sancho, there were probably a few more.

He won't get picked for Brazil all the while he's being exposed. He's not massively old, players go on for much longer these days. The fans slagging him off probably doesn't help. Especially when everyone is giving the ball away cheaply.

Sancho doesn't play for us anymore ;) AWB/Martial were also not internationals but they've also gone.

I think his form for the national team last season was also an issue it's why he was dropped for the Copa America despite being captain at the start of the season. Brazil realised you need to protect him and that restricts you going forward as you need to put another defensive player in the midfield.

Players legs go at different times some last well into their 30's but others go sooner. Fabinho at Liverpool was an absolute world class centre mid destroyer then he hit 30 and suddenly he was done and a complete liability.

The turnovers don't help anyone and the risky positions our player take in the build up are a recipe for disaster in a league where every team is lethal on the break but none of that will change the fact that Casemiro can't get up and down the pitch anymore and that's a massive problem.
