I didn’t think I would be making a thread for him this season, I thought a Saudi club would make an offer and we would take the money and run! Sounds like that’s not going to happen, so here we are!

Looked so done back end of last season, although did put in a couple of decent centre back showings after his horror show at Palace.

You would think he’ll be the one starting next to Mainoo come that first PL game.
 
I think he’s going to be a massive problem this season.

The blokes legs are gone.
 
Yep running in thicker treacle than last season if pre-season is anything to go by.

We need that big Saudi offer and fast!
 
That offer from Saudi isn’t coming we are stuck with him.

We have to buy his replacement now and use him as a squad player.
 
He was decent. Hopefully he will be a useful impact sub capable of making telling contributions.

He had a great game. I'm very excited to see the real Casemiro back.

And yeah, he did look a lot fitter. Decisions were good too.

Looked better that he did last season.

Wins everything in the air in both boxes.
 
Looks a hell of a lot fitter I must say. Was very good today and it did help he had numbers around him in that midfield.

Encouraging signs though.

Cost us the point yesterday.

Switched off on a set piece and left the back post empty.

General performance was ok again but we need better than ok from a guy who’s meant to be the senior player setting the standard.
 
Legs are more or less gone you could see him struggling to keep up in that two midfield.
His mistakes are now happening far too often.
 
To be fair before the first goal he was doing okay but totally lost his head after the mistakes.

That's my opinion too

Also, Mainoo got robbed for the third, like the second, but nothing has been said
 
Too many of our players get caught napping on the ball thinking they have all the time in the world, I watch other teams and they look so much sharper in every way.
 
I think he’s done certainly for a team that wants to build from the back.

Teams will target him and those brave enough will get results he can’t take the ball off the back 4 under pressure.

His passing at best is erratic even under no pressure like the first goal.

Against quality opponents he’s going to be a big problem for us if we want to try and go toe to toe.
