United will play Ipswich Town at Old Trafford in the Capital One Cup third round. The tie will be played in the week commencing 21 September.

Hopefully the 2nd string do a lot better in this years League cup. Also hope there's chances for likes of Johnstone, McNair, Lingard, Pereira and Wilson, with a few other U21s thrown on the bench.

Team I think i'd like to see Wednesday: De Gea; Valencia, Smalling, McNair, Rojo; Schneiderlin, Herrera; Lingard, Pereira, Young; Wilson.

U21s playing tomorrow so would be surprised to see any of that lot on the bench. With Shaw out, maybe give Borthwick-Jackson a go off the bench though!

Only Pereira looks likely given the U21s side tonight. Hopefully Lingard, Wilson and a few others get on the bench though!
