Yesterday the manager dropping rashford was bizarre

Yes Bruno should be taken off when playing badly.
 
Was Rashford dropped or rotated? He’s got 3 wingers all in good form each of them has now started 1 of the last 3 games on the bench. Garnacho who started also has 3 in 2 games and Amad was probably our best attacking player vs Southampton.

I think the striker choices is fair we’ve gone for two youngsters with potential that we need to see bloom in the next 12-18 months. Hojlund needs to start looking like a top striker this season Zirkzee deserves a little more time.

You can’t really blame the striker when you’ve got Bruno and Garnacho both missing 2 good chances.

We've gone for two youngsters with poor records in other leagues when Kane and Toney were available.
I don't care how much kane would have cost, how much do we lose with no CL.
Short of goals, you play the two players scoring, Radford and Garnacho.

It's incredible the amount of excuses that get trotted out. I don't care, we should of be beating palace and Brighton, we're not and it's not good enough
Things need to change. Quickly or we're out the top 4 before Christmas

Would Kane have come? Spurs were never selling him to a PL club for what Bayern paid I just don’t think we could afford him.

Toney given his betting ban is a massive risk you pay Brentford £40-50m for him then he gets caught again and is out for a year? He was way to big a risk.

If it was the striker missing all the chances I could get why you keep bringing it up but yesterday the striker created 2 good chances for his team mates who both failed to score. Must admit I’ve not really seen the replay of the one he slid in on to say if he should do better.

Garnacho who’s in form had 2 good chances yesterday didn’t take either of them same for Bruno who I’d say isn’t in form in front of goal.

We are 3 points off the pace after 5 games so in the next 5 he needs to turn that around. Got some tricky games but also chances to land a few blows on rivals.

Probably needs 10 points from 15 as a minimum but really to close the gap I think we need 4 wins out of 5 there.

The main thing the stat above shows is that the issue certainly isn't with the manager or his tactics.

I didn't say it was. It's a collective.

Although push comes to shove. It's him who gets pushed and shoved.
Should have started Marcus, and subbed bruno. That's on him of course.
 
I guess if the team is creating chances and not scoring, he needs to change it earlier.

Palace changed at half time and we didn't counter teact

Palace didn’t change at HT it was like for like subs. They went more defensive on the hour when Hughes came on for Nketiah put an extra man in midfield which probably forced our full backs to be a bit more cautious and not go 2 vs 2 at the back.

Ten Hag put the fresh legs in midfield and changed the attackers around but the players who came on didn’t really do anything. I felt he could have made 1 more change as a last throw of the dice with Mount for Bruno but maybe Mount wasn’t that fit and he decided not to risk him.

My only issue with the subs was he took off 23 chance creators in Eriksen Amad and Zirkzee the lads who come on aren’t really players who create chances. At that point I think he was just hoping for some individual brilliance from one of the forward players to win it.
 
However you look at it, whoever you blame. It's just not good enough.

Started Rashford ahead of the best player on the pitch yesterday?

Did I miss how spectacular Rashford was when he came on? It's amusing because a few weeks ago he was criticised for starting Rashford not Garnacho. I could understand that argument had Rashford come on and been alive instead of looked disinterested and we were a poorer team with his introduction.

A double against a League 1 side is being massively overrated here and people forgetting he's not played well for 13 months because of a double against a League 1 side is silly.
 
For one, I've been a supporter of rashford while everyone is slagging him

Secondly I would have had garnacho on the right. So no, to that point

Probably has got the hump, just found form after being low on confidence and dropped. Talk about kill a player
 
Also, I'm not blaming ETH, I said all summer, without a striker, this would happen.

Been short of goals for ages, you don't win games without goals

Really bad decision by the club
 
Rashford has 11 goals in his last 50 games. Not sure he can be considered a legit goal threat that is a must start. Amad and Garnacho are simply playing better than him at the moment and have been for quite some time.

If being rotated kills his confidence it's probably time for him to retire as a footballer because hes mentally gone. Garnacho when rotated out came on and made things happen. Rashford made the team look worse.
 
I don’t think Amad is better either but he’s in better form been consistently our best attacking player this season.

I don’t think we will see Rashford and Garnacho start together regularly they are both to similar in style.
 
Rashford can only play left. Certainly not central where he came on yesterday.

I think Garnacho is our best right player, even if he is better left

He played central on Wednesday. Thats the performance that has people saying he should definitely be playing.

Trying to get back to Bruno

I think it's time he was rotated when not in form because when he's not, it's not just like the game passes him by, he gives possession away. He needs to learn that when he's struggling, keep it simple. Whereas he seems to do the opposite
 
I think the system has to work with and without Bruno.

I know he wants to play every game but he shouldn’t be playing every league cup and Europa group stage game. Mount has to start putting some pressure on him with his performances and that means creating chances and scoring as well as running about.

I didn’t see the whole game but it seemed like the later part of the game was where he got sloppy as we become more direct and tried to force things rather than be patient.

Think as usual a lot of short term memory's on here.

Without Bruno we are a pile of shit. You lot would hound De Bruyne out for crying out loud (Yes Bruno has a higher pass completion rate than De Bruyne in the prem) just don't appreciate quality when it's in front of you.

Please pick out his quality moment in the 75 minutes? He had so many loose passes all game that broke down many an attack. Quality is a real stretch.
 
He's had a couple of poor performances this season

Of course he needs to start, but he should have been hoked on Saturday. Even if it's to change things up when we cannot score.
 
It was Bruno's cross that Zirkzee/Garnacho almost got on the end of first half and second half it was a nice 1-2 with Zirkzee to create the chance that he ended up putting wide.

The team really flowed for about an hour and Bruno was part of that, everyone was playing well but sadly no one could provide the clinical finish.

After Palace made the change and stuck the extra man in midfield we found it much harder to play our game and the passing got a lot longer and more direct which is where I think Bruno started to struggle.
 
He`s still the player that can unlock something and provide us with a chance to score, we should have more of that from other players so we dont have to rely on him so much.

But he can have really bad spells where he gives possesion away easily, try's things not on when we need a calmer head
 
There is no doubt he is one of our main creative performances but he is still so frustrating at times. He can do world class things but he can be similarly so wasteful.

I totally understand he’s a creative force so will not get every pass right but he’s definitely a level below someone like De Bruyne despite what stats may say.

We definitely miss him when he’s not there but that could be more about the lack of back up options rather than Bruno himself.

I wonder if someone like Amad may well eventually be a player you can play in that little number 10 pocket.
 
Think everyone agrees Bruno is great but when he isn't having a good day it can have a big impact on the whole team as so many attacks go through him at some point and if they keep breaking down at him then that needs to be addressed by the manager.

Really we need a player to start putting pressure on him for that spot be in Mount or maybe even Mainoo who I think could be suited to being more attacking in the long run. Someone needs to be sitting there for the manager to think I trust you to fix this problem if I sub Bruno.
 
He was poor again. He’s had a real poor start to the season and doesn’t warrant a place in the team.

Can a team be built around a moments player?
