It still hurts me that we couldn't do anything to keep him. I understand he had never taken his chances but his chances were very limited compared to the likes of Pereira. Surely we could have given him a contract and loaned him out to boavista if we don't think he is ready.
 
Think demands were unrealistic and for Utd it would have taken 2 maybe 3 seasons out on loan to get him ready for us.

The player made the right choice obviously talented but needs years in leagues like Portugal and France to really fulfill his talent.

i think the mistake was not getting him out on loan for the last year or two playing proper men’s football
 
Think Utd wanted to let him go on loan last season but only if he signed a new deal first they didn’t want him on loan with his contract expiring it was a similar situation with Chong when he committed to the club they sent him straight out on loan.

Well he's now back at Lille and has been called up to England's U21 team for the latest round of games.

Anyone heard how he's doing back at Lille this season?
