Amad Diallo | Match Discussion Thread 2024/25

Hate to overhype him but he played like prime Messi against Everton.
I can see why you make the comparison.

He definitely has 3 of Messi's best abilities; agility, quick feet and low centre of gravity. All of which make him ideal to drift by players like they're not even there.

Should be renamed 'Justin Credible' - the guy who knows it all.

Damn, I think I've just created his fifth forum alt.

You say say everyone is going to be good, you've got about 1:20 hit rate :p

Not at his best today but he really does look like our only attacker that has natural technical ability. The rest of them seem to just make it up as they go along.

He was definitely a danger in the second half and our best attacker today. He's in some good form.

We are relying on him too much as an outlet to create something, he’s brilliant but the responsibility has to be shared more, Rashford isn’t even close to him now.

Think that position suits him he’s doing well a bright spark in a very average side

I think it’s decent enough if this system is going to work he shouldn’t be forced to do to much defending even in the wing back role.

His pressing is very good

Top class again tonight.

Maybe could have made more of a few moments where he tried to go alone but generally positive stuff again from the youngster

What can you say? Apart from the goal he was the best player on the pitch, always looking to influence and progress the play.

And that goal? The touch was unreal to get it past Ederson and then a smart finish.

Someone owes JC an apology. Me and Him both said last January he'll be a star. And we got laughed at. He called it. I backed him up.

The rest of the forum said we can't rely on a championship player to come sort things out.

I've always wanted Amad to get as fair chance, and thought he was criminally underused by EtH.

I think the consensus overall on here was that Amad probably deserved more chances than he got under ETH. He’s definitely taking his chance now!

He will only get better and better as well with time. Really excited to see how he continues to develop.

I thought he got plenty of chances under ETH he managed him pretty well, he's a young kid he should be eased in and I maintain it's damning of the senior players in this team that once again it's a kid providing the killer moments in games.

He's been a slow burner but anyone who saw this lad play at Sunderland on loan could see the quality it was just about him maturing and that looks to be happening.

We need to enjoy the highs but remember with this lad there will be some lows along the way and it needs those senior players to protect him when they come by doing their job and making sure the results keep coming.
