If our interest is genuine and we seriously consider him a first choice left wing back option then no point in waiting in my opinion.I think it would be wise to leave him at Benfica for the rest of the season.

He could continue to impress at Benfica and a whole host of clubs could be in for him. If we left it until the summer and Madrid/Barca came sniffing around, he might be more inclined to reject us and sign elsewhere.
Ah wasn’t aware of that little nugget! Thought the player still had a choice. He can’t really reject us that’s the beauty of the buy back.
If those clubs came Utd can buy him back then sell him straight on for double what we’ve paid.
I think carrying on playing in a champions league side fighting at the top of their league will do him good.

In that case yeah maybe the rest of the season at Benfica would be beneficial. Although our need at LWB is pretty pressing so that expedite the buy back if we really want him.
He can reject us. The buy back clause doesn't hinder the player refusing us.
It would be against the law to not allow him the option.
Yeah that would be my concern about himDoes he possess the physical attributes to play at wing back?
