Arsenal make world record bid, and she only has 6 months left on her contract.

Be a huge mistake to let her go while we're top and chasing CL.

They need to agree a new deal with her ASAP and keep her long term

Not sure what CL means to the budget but if that spot is worth more than the transfer fee you have to keep her.

Does she want to go or is she just holding out for more money?

Looks like we have rebuffed all Arsenal advances and she will stay with us. No point selling unless she was really unhappy.

Be tempted to sell her if she's not prepared to sign what will be for the Women's game a very lucrative contract.

Anyone seen the amount of this world record bid? It's obviously going to be a fraction of the fees thrown around in the men's game, but for a club the size of United, a few million isn't really worth undermining a title challenge and getting into the CL for the first time.

Russo's agent in talks with Arsenal.

Not really news though is it, Arsenal will have been in Alessia's/her agent's and those closest to her ears weekly since United refused to sell her to Arsenal in January.

Yeah, I'm hoping the agent has put it out there to get a better offer from United.

Been confirmed she's leaving the club and is expected to join Arsenal on a free transfer.

Champions League football clearly wasn't enough to keep her, just sounds like she had her heart set on the move and there was nothing Utd could do to change her mind.

Disappointed. If United had missed out on the Champions League and she'd gone to Chelsea I could maybe have understood, but going to Arsenal, pfft, maybe she's not as big a United fan as she's always made out, feels like she's used the club she says she supported to get her the dream move, i'll stop short of wishing her bad luck, but ....

Arsenal also managed to get champions league football.

I'm guessing she feels that with them she's got a better chance of challenging Chelsea for the titles than she does if she sticks with Utd.

I don't follow it closely but sounds like Arsenal had horrible luck with injuries last season if they'd had their full squad they'd have been able to really push Chelsea.

A chance to be closer to family as well maybe is a factor.

Huh, United took Chelsea to the last game of the season just finished, and with one of the youngest squads in the country.

........ See above.

She lives in England, not bloody America or Russia.

They did push them close but she may have felt like that was a one off whereas Arsenal are maybe setup to challenge season after season.

She's from Maidstone so maybe she wants to be a bit closer to her family assuming they're still based there.

Facilities are being improved at Carrington for the womens team but they are still not the best according to reports.

Might feel the coaching is a better standard at Arsenal we don't really know.

She hasn't given a reason but there's obviously a bit more to it than just how competitive the side is.

Stop making excuses for her, she wasn't bothered about being close to her family when she was playing in America..

She was at college and we don't know if this was an issue.

I was just chucking ideas around about why she might be leaving sounds like Utd offered her good money to stay and it wasn't enough.

Yeah, sorry for being so snappy, I blame the Sunstroke.

By all accounts, the contract she wanted was only offered at the last minute.

Shouldn't matter, sounds like she'd already agreed to join Arsenal while she was still under contract at United. Two year ban from the game should teach her the error of her ways,

Sounds very much like her head was turned during the season.

Losing our better players to rivals isn't making the task any easier for the club as that's two England internationals they've lost to Chelsea and Arsenal in recent seasons.

James was always going back to London, the club understood that when she was poached from Arsenal.

Funny innit, most United fans are wishing Russo well, some blaming the club(well they would), but could you imagine if Rashford did exactly the same, he'd be getting death threats and other such stuff.

I've unfollowed her :D

If your best players leave, I guess the club is responsible somehow.

Casey Stoney left because of the facilities

Sounds to me like she made it clear to them 12 months ago she wouldn’t renew for whatever reason.

Club decided it was better to keep her and lose her for nothing than get a transfer fee, probably right decision given the season they had. Sounds like she was pretty professional about it got on with her job and gave her best for the team.

You don’t want unhappy players at the club and if they’ve made a big offer and it still isn’t enough that suggests there’s other factors.

Shame she isn’t staying but the club moves on it’s about finding a replacement now.

We might as well have sold her for a World record fee because her game went to shit after the January window closed.

Daly look like the player we should get to repalce Russo. Even though she is a bit old

Sad but can't bring myself to watch England because of Russo, yet, watched about 5 minutes in total before today, and I haven't checked today's result yet, let it go JC ....
