Worked hard as always but he was very poor tonight
 
For me he struggled with his end product again, similar to the start of the season. Gone a bit Antony and predictable, come inside on his right and shoot.
Mind you, he's better than Zirkzee and Hojlund, should try him up top

He shouldn't have struggled with his end product. He dragged players away and played little passes to leave others open who screwed many chances down that left wing.

The game is more than just goals and assist the space he opened for others today was brilliant and when he did it he played em in and he was a lot more than cutting in and shooting.

It's an unfair misjudgement.

You seem to make up your opinion before the game has started.

Him and Bruno were comfortably the best two players on the pitch tonight.
 
Eh, I commented after the game, on what I saw in the game. How's that making my mind up before the game?

I didn't say he was poor, said he struggled with his end product, and he did.

I don't remember mentioning Bruno.

Didn't think anyone had a particularly good game, against a pretty poor side. What I mean by that, no stand out performer

Don't think anybody on here wants him to go. I certainly don't. But we have to get money in.

Good performance, he made quite the quite the impact. Would it be fair to see he is now starting to look for a passing option rather than constant shoot which he has been guilty of?
 
Played well and I agree looked to be more focused on creating chances than just head down and going for goal every time.
 
Looking good again after being a little lost in the early Amorim games. Shows he’s knuckling down and starting to understand his role.
 
Making it very difficult for the club to sell him.

Seems to have upped his game since the rumours

I think so too. I think a lot of players are doing this now. Bruno too. Not rushing their decisions and making the right choices.
 
Feels like the whole team have been told to slow it down a bit to get some control in games.

Can make us a bit toothless but it means attacks are built in a calmer way.

They just need to learn how you inject the speed into moves once you are in the final third to open up a defence.

Just kept going and going at his man and caused them a lot of problems.

Exactly how many times were two players going where they thought the ball might end up yet no one hanging back near the spot?
Some of our players are thick as pig shit.
 
We just don’t have enough players getting in the box.

When Garnacho is crossing the ball in this system you should have minimum 3 ideally 4 in the box. The wing back on the opposite side and a centre mid have to be getting into the box.

With no McTominay anymore how many of our attacking players actually want to be on the end of a cross?
 
He changed the game and got United on the front foot. United were much better in the second thanks to his introduction.

We do appear to play with a lack of game intelligence.
 
I’ve just read that he has the worst big chance conversion rate of players to have at least 10 big chances in the Premier League this season (2/14 - 14.3%). Another big opportunity today. Still only 20 though, there has been an over reliance on young players such as Garnacho and Hojlund.
 
The one in the first half was a shocker.

Hasn’t scored a league goal since Amorim took over.

He misses a lot of easy chances, he’s better when it’s a bit more instinctive.

Good to see him getting into those positions but finishing needs to improve ten fold.

We shouldn’t be in a position where we are relying on kids like him.

That’s my issue.

He was bright enough today but his end product is anywhere good enough yet.

Shouldn’t we? The guy has been in the first team for a couple of years now, he’s not someone that’s just broken through this season. He’s played International football for Argentina. He shouldn’t be our main source of everything good but he has to do better.

I agree that we shouldn’t be relying on kids and the senior players need to do a lot more around him. However, he’s played enough football to brush up on those basics he’s lacking at the moment. Love his energy and he’s got bundles of talent, so he will definitely keep getting better.

Basically 2 years since he broke through as a teenager. Why is he carrying the team on his back?

There should be senior players keeping him out but there isn’t so all the pressure falls on him. He’s only just past 100 senior appearances.

It’s embarrassing how badly we’ve built our attacking line up over the last decade
 
Should probably say, I like Garnacho a lot, and think he's a definite keeper. My last post was just being honest about his recent form.

I think it does boil down to pressure, so I agree with the above.

He definitely shouldn’t be carrying the team at his age but I do think his performance level can be a lot better for the talent he possesses.

The whole recruitment process has been embarrassing for years but looks like we have a good team in place in now above the manager who have the right credentials. Hopefully we can finally start to build a foundation of recruitment that avoids the past mistakes.
