Welcome to the Stretford End Arising’s Player Ratings.
Wayne Rooney scored a late penalty to seal a 1-0 victory over Rangers to secure a place in the knockout stages of the Champions League. Michael Carrick, Chris Smalling and Fabio all impressing, with the young Brazilian earning the penalty after he was unceremoniously hacked down by Steven Naismith. Man United fully deserved their victory after such a negative display from the home team when three points was a must.
