SEA’s Player Ratings: Manchester United v Wigan Athletic

Welcome to the Stretford End Arising’s Player Ratings.

Patrice Evra (his first goal since the 7-1 romp against Roma) and Javier Hernandez (now Man United’s equal leading goal scorer) grabbed the goals in a relatively comfortable victory over local rivals Wigan Athletic. Saturday was a cracking afternoon for Sir Alex and his team with close rivals Chelsea and Arsenal both suffering defeats.

After the 2-0 win, members of the SEA community were asked to score individual player’s performance with a score from 0-10. The average score was calculated and the results are below. Here are the individual member ratings vs. Wigan. Register now with the SEA: Forum to influence the ratings against Rangers.

Manchester United XI

Edwin – 6.8: Saved what would be a goal from Rodallega in the first half but was a privileged spectator in the second half. (Jorgefoo)

Rafael – 7.8: Quiet performance in first half but superb in the second half. An assist, another good crossings, and a real threat from the right side. (Jorgefoo)
Rio – 6.5: Solid. (Jorgefoo)
Vidic – 7.1: Made some mistakes in the first half but did another great performance. He’s our best player in this season, in my opinion. (Jorgefoo)
Evra – 8: Excellent performance, scored a goal in a very important moment in the game. MOTM (Jorgefoo)

Nani – 5.9: Reasonable performance in the second half. But remains a problem in free kicks and corner kicks. I was amazed by his amount of wrong passes. (Jorgefoo)
Fletcher – 5.6: Its like he can only go forward or back & he can’t read plays well. (deviledspam)
Carrick – 5.8: Average play from again from Mr. Average. (deviledspam)
Park – 5.6: I don’t expect much from him as a winger. Maybe so, i wasn’t surprised with his performance. But at least, he got an assist. (Jorgefoo)

Obertan – 6: Rather see Bebe now because Obertan is all about speed with head down but had decent game. (deviledspam)
Macheda – 5.8: He’s definitely not the finished product to be lone striker. (deviledspam)

Scholes – 6.3: Game flowed better when he was introduced. (deviledspam)
Rooney – 5.8: Good passing, almost scored a goal… Good performance. (Jorgefoo)
Hernandez – 7.1: He gets involved immediately trying to make plays and got his 7th goal. (deviledspam)

  3. well poor frist half . taught park had a good game. nani in and out. macheda sonme reason he doesnt get many chances maybe jiust one and if looky he will find the net. i was at the ganme saturday people sitting around me saying what does fergie see in obertan. agree with them but if you look away from he looks a differnt player. for excanmple villa he canme on and was in with the build up for macheda goal and nearly scored as well and had a few runs in the box. if you renmber wolsburg in germany last year he was like ronaldo that nite the second goal he set up for owen he fulled the left back went other way at hard angle croosed in and owen tapped easy. i think he fears playing at old trafford. and i think he nevere get over playing a front of 76000 people . a few other ways ganmes well stoke this year . look at him the next time he play way and at honme and you will see the differnce he looks more confinent away from honme than at honme if that makes any sence
