Thats about it. It would be a tad unfair not to recognise that his nuisance element and his application has been very useful more often than it hasn't, and I certainly have had a growing respect and fondness for him. But that needs to be measured. Was his best game by a long way last night but he offers zero goal threat he's just a bit of a nuisance which helps create things for others.
That actually sounds to me like exploration your suggesting. "here is a miserly offer, and just be greatful you play for United?".All of those great players you mention had water carriers alongside them to do the dirty work. Nobody is suggesting that Weghorst should be playing 50 matches next season or negates the need for a striker, but his “nuisance element” has proven to pretty valuable, and is certainly worth the pittance it would cost to keep him on.
Does 2 + 2 = 5 in your world too? He’s not gonna cost a fortune because he’s not a world class #9 or 10. What he does really well, is rather useful, so he’d make a good squad player on a decent fee/wage packet. That actually sounds to me like exploration your suggesting. he is either worth the going rate or he isnt, and if he isnt that tells the story. Sounds like you think we can put him on the same deal as Mainoo and put him up in Travelodge.
This is nothing more than a silly notion you are having.Does 2 + 2 = 5 in your world too? He’s not gonna cost a fortune because he’s not a world class #9 or 10. What he does really well, is rather useful, so he’d make a good squad player on a decent fee/wage packet.
And for the record, he is rather happy to be playing for United, something that can’t be said for the other #9 who never actually plays for United.
I think another 5 goals is a big ask but glad he got his Old Trafford moment.
This May all be very true, but come the end of the season he will still be a contender for the big red and yellow clown shoe.Chuffed for Wout to get his goal at OT. He seems to play as we would in the shirt. Gives 100%, knows the limits of his ability and is enjoying every single second of it for however long it lasts. He knows he is not the answer to our shortage of striking options but will enjoy the ride regardless. He seems a decent and honest bloke, and his team mates all seem to appreciate him.
If Martial plays for United again it will be to try and get him to earn us a decent fee (which we wont be getting)I get he does a job, and he might hold the ball up for others. But he doesn't score, he can't run, his touch is poor.
As soon as Martial is fit he's out. So he will be replaced with a player most fans think isn't good enough for united.
saying that, I thought he did alright against West Ham in the cup
I wouldn't even bother trying to get a fee, just need him off the books and out of the club.If Martial plays for United again it will be to try and get him to earn us a decent fee (which we wont be getting)
