Manchester United striker Ashley Fletcher has joined Yorkshire side Barnsley on an initial one month loan.
The deal to the Championship club allows Fletch the opportunity to enjoy a similar successful stint at the same club as Ben Pearson has recently returned from, where regular first team football at a competitive level can only be of benefit to the 20-year-old.
Midfielder Joe Rothwell also spent part of this season on loan at the Terriers, as the two clubs aim to build a foundation to form a solid relationship to help a fellow club out, with Barnsley developing the players as United aid the need for squad depth at a lower league club.
Fletcher was the U21s top scorer for the calendar year of 2015, scoring six times, and offers an aerial threat, good pace, ability to hold the ball up and play in his teammates.
We wish Fletch all the best with this loan spell, where a successful period may extend further or catch the eye of the first team management.
