If he leaves Barca (and I remain sceptical that he will) then I think there's a better chance he ends up at Chelsea. A better team right now who are willing to spend money to improve and the chance to live in London. Sorry but that's the reality for United. Things took so long (not their fault) that this was always a risk. Sadly Arnold and Murtough are going to end up with egg on their face.
I think so overall yes. They aren't in a great state but I didn't say they were. I think they are in an interesting phase but they are clearly willing to spend the cash. I mean let's just look at this for a second...Are Chelsea really in a better state?
But they had back ups and they've continued to be active. And ultimately the players they are targeting improve them. All their first choices went elsewhere

They signed Koudabily who I think is going to be a fantastic signing. They were in for Kounde so got to assume they are going after another CB. They have agreed a deal with Cucharella and they've signed Sterling. Plus the rumours are hotting up with De Jong so I can see that one happening. I think it's more likely he joins them that United.
So no they aren't great but they are in a better position than United and are clearly willing to spend. They'll sign at least another 2 whereas I'm not sure United get another 1 but if they do it'll be a max of 1.
Koudabily is a top CB so yes I'd be happy. And a back up LB? I think he's going to be the starter. If United signed a 31 yr old Koulibaly and a back up left back would you be rating the signing?
I think it's absurd Chelsea are spending £52m on a back up to Chilwell.
Chelsea fans think it's absurd. They think it highlights that they're just throwing money at it without thinking. Which is exactly what you'd say about United.
As for Sterling. Do you honestly think you'd be raving about it if we signed him? I think it's a decent signing. But he needs a top man to play off of. Chelsea don't have it. And he might not even make their starting 11. And probably wouldn't ours.
Why will Chelsea definitely get another two and United may not even get 1? You say we are biased but your comments are so against United, it’s unreal.I think so overall yes. Because it is my opinion that they will. They seem willing to spend the money whereas we know United aren't so much. And they are being more active. They are all very similar in terms of quality. Put Rashford and Martial in the City side they are scoring as many or maybe more than Sterling did.I mean look he's better than Rashford, he's better (though a different position) than Martial.
We could debate this all day my friend. You think Rashford and Martial are up there in quality alongside Sterling. I don't.They are all very similar in terms of quality. Put Rashford and Martial in the City side they are scoring as many or maybe more than Sterling did.

On De Jong, what are peoples thoughts at the moment then?
I know what you mean and there's a part of me that does think you're right. Would they have stayed in the race this long if they weren't getting positive messages from his side. But this is United and it really wouldn't be unlike them would it.I just can't see us staying in the race this long unless we've had a pretty strong statement from his agent that as long as Barca sort out his wages it's happening if they don't pay him off he'll stay. He must be pretty confident that eventually they'll buckle and pay him off to go but they seem to be cracking on with the worlds biggest credit card spending spree at the moment.
The thread is about a potential signing so the fact a ball hasn't been kicked is irrelevant....if there's a thread on EtH philosophy then I will gladly post on there as and when it's appropriate to do soA single ball of the new season hasn’t even been kicked and people are losing their minds. Think we need to give ETH’s philosophy a chance and we have made a couple of signings and potentially a couple more to come. Chill your jets.
You stated that our performance in the transfer market is as shambolic as ever. So you generalised our entire transfer performance and I was merely stating that we should be giving the new signings and the manager a chance before declaring we are still ‘a laughing stock’.The thread is about a potential signing so the fact a ball hasn't been kicked is irrelevant....if there's a thread on EtH philosophy then I will gladly post on there as and when it's appropriate to do so
Not gonna argue with fellow fan....in relation to FDJ if he ended up at Chelsea after all our efforts then, I feel, that label would be justified (most non Utd fans do laugh at us mind you)....however could all just be media waffle and no harm doneYou stated that our performance in the transfer market is as shambolic as ever. I mean to be fair to most I think they have good reason to be concerned or to lose their minds. The club hasn't been run well for a few years now and what's the evidence right now to suggest that's going to change? The transfer window for United has been very very poor there's no getting away from that right now.A single ball of the new season hasn’t even been kicked and people are losing their minds. So I'm comparison to Chelsea who are doing good work we've both signed a CB and a LB and they've signed a winger who probably doesn't start for them. They lost their main striker and 2 of their main 3 defenders. But they're doing well and we are doing terribly.I mean to be fair to most I think they have good reason to be concerned or to lose their minds.
