Looks like they're going hard for De Ligt from Juventus.

De Ligt reminds me a lot of Maguire everything seems to be there bar the recovery speed and it's a problem for both of them a little surprised to see another club take this huge gamble on him because he doesn't seem to have kicked on since he went to Juventus.

They have managed to get Gnabry to sign a new contract which will be a relief but with Lewendowski gone they've got a big old gap to fill up top. Will they look to use Muller as a false 9 this season and change the formation slightly or will they try to use Mane as the centre forward.

They have this huge advantage over everyone in Germany anyway but Lewendowski feels like the end of that era really he's been such a lethal weapon for them.

Still don't understand the transfer for such fee they could have got Kounde. Anyway, i thinks Mane will replace Lewa in the statring 11 and they will integrate Gravenberch. I expect a good season for them if they get ride of the 3 at the back. When you have a fullback like Davies you must use him well.

Kounde sounds like he is off to Barca if they can find another 50m euros down the back of what must be the most generous sofa in history.

Is Davies fully recovered from that heart issue he had after Covid?

How boring must it be to be a Bayern fan knowing you are gonna win the League every season, is in TEN in a row now?

Think it's becoming an issue across a lot of the European Leagues.

Basically if the biggest team is also the best run team then what hope does everyone have in the modern game? Bayern used to wobble and others would step in but that just doesn't happen anymore.

There's actually quite a bit of debate in Germany at the moment saying should they get rid of the 50+1 rule and even Bayern are on record as saying the current structure favours them as it stops a rival team coming up to challenge them through investment.

Could even argue we're starting to see signs of it in England with City they've won 4 of the last 5 league titles and in 3 of those wins they've got over 90 points to take the title. Liverpool have twice cleared 90 points and not won the league which is crazy.

So many German clubs have gone down this youth development route meaning they never keep a team together as it's all about developing players then selling them to England clubs for big profits. Bayern are the only club who don't really have that model.

4/5 is not unusual in England though, United did it 3 times if you manipulate the figures, and i'd hazard a guess Liverpool did it at least once in the 70's and 80's but you'll never get total domination in England like Bayern have now, and Celtic and more recently Rangers did. Think Rosenburg and ColoColo in Chile had a similar level of total domination. It just can't be good for the football in those countries.

Think if you just go by decades as a marker Utd won 5 in the 90's, 6 in the 00's and 2 in the 10's.

Liverpool won 4 in the 70's, and 6 in the 80's so a pretty similar domination of the two previous decades.

Think in the 10's City won 4 though the 20's you could easily see them getting to 5 or 6 the way it's going with Pep in charge and the money they have behind them.

Think it shows once you climb to the top as long as you don't shoot yourself in the foot it's actually not that hard to stay there for a long time.

I guess in Germany it's slightly different as the national team is most fans number 1 team so having a strong Bayern team where most of the national team play together often means collectively they are strong at the major tournaments. Where it's changed in the last decade is since Dortmund won those two titles Bayern haven't really slipped up in any season to give another club a sniff. I think there was one season when Kovac was in charge where Dortmund really blew the title when Bayern had an off season but they quickly addressed that and got back to winning ways.

I'm sure prior to the current streak the Bundesliga could often throw up a random winner as Bayern used to implode regularly due to their internal politics.

You can't have a championship when the others winner sell there best players to Bayern in the summer after. That happened when Bayern Leverkusen won and when Dortmund won. Bayern just buy there sucess everytime they sleep up. I'm sure Klopp left because of this. It must be hard to win against them and being forced to sell Lewa to them in the summer. That will never change, so we have to accept it. The League still produce good players, see Leipzig, Dortmund, Leverkusen. We just have to be quicker than Bayern to get them.

It did, from 91-95 it was the most competitive League in Europe with 5 different winners.

In the 00's there were 5 different winners including Bayern.

Bayern, Dortmund, Bremen, Stuttgart, Wolfsburg.

And?

It was still a decade dominated by Bayern, and a sign of what was to come.

It was more adding to your point in the two previous decades Bayern would win the league 50% of the time but other clubs stood a chance now they win it every season and in most of those seasons they're wrapping it up with plenty of games to spare which is not good for the league.

Think it was under Pep but there was a run of I think 5 games where the opposition didn't even manage a shot on target against Bayern.

The German FA must be concerned at how things are, even if they could handicap Bayern and they start the next 5 season on minus 6 points they will almost certainly still win the League.

If the owners of Leipzig don't flex their financial muscle, and soon, I can see Bayern extending it from 10 in a row to 15, then 20, then ....

From this point it doesn't really matter what other clubs do it's about Bayern messing it up if they keep making good decisions when it comes to recruitment they're always going to sit on top.

Leipzig is interesting as even with all that money last summer Bayern took their manager, their best centre back and best centre mid. Leipzig's model is really about making money they're player traders they buy develop then sell whereas Bayern is not setup with those objectives in mind.

Bayern have been helped by Dortmund's instability in the post Klopp era they've never been able to build then sustain momentum because they've never been able to build a solid defence and they're always losing their top attacking talent to other clubs.

For Bayern to not win it basically needs a summer where Dortmund get every big decisions right and Bayern get every big decision wrong.

The German FA I think only really care about the national team so if this domination is going to build a strong national team then they're probably ok with it.

Where it's tricky is this isn't necessarily good for Bayern if they want to compete on a European level they need bigger TV contracts for the Bundesliga especially from foreign markets. If the league is being bossed by 1 team it's unlikely to attract them as people want shocks.

Watched the supercup against Leipzig and they still look weak at the back. I'm definetly against the 3 at the back thing. They will lose in CL because of it.

Not sure how you can be a super attacking side while playing 3 at the back because even with a back 3 you still need to have 2 pretty solid midfielders ahead of it.

Controversy in the first Bundesliga game of the season as Bayern travelled to last seasons Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt and the referee blew for full-time after only 89:59 mins.

Bayern who were 0-5 up at HT, and ended up winning 1-6 will be furious if they are beaten on goal-difference to the Title as they strive for eleven in a row.

Not sure it's been made official but it's basically been reported that Nagelsmann is about to be sacked and replaced by Tuchel.

He's currently 1 point off the top spot and in the champions league quarter finals.

They paid a huge release fee to get him from Leipzig as well.

A little bit of a strange decision but I was reading the hierarchy didn’t really like his style of play.

I guess when you’ve been winning the Bundesliga for years by land slide points differences, then if you get some competition the manager is going to be questioned. Losing Lewandowski has clearly contributed to them being pulled back to the pack in the Bundesliga.

It sounds like there's been tension between Nagelsmann and the heirachy for a while he's a bit of a free thinker and tries mad tactics/systems which don't always come off whereas Bayern are used to a very settled formation/style through a season.

They won the league by 8 points last season so wasn't exactly a landslide as it has been in previous years they lost 5 of 34 games which for them is probably a lot.

Anyway Tuchel is well known for never falling out with the board at any club.
