Bit strange at the moment at City as quite a few players seem to be looking for moves. Jesus, Sterling and Bernardo Silva all want to leave according to reports.

City have been pretty clear that players who aren't happy can leave if clubs are willing to pay the right price Guardiola has said openly he doesn't want to keep unhappy players at the club. Jesus and Sterling want to leave due to playing time and Silva apparently wants a new challenge.

Some rumours Gundogan is looking for a move back to Germany as well.

Absolutely ridiculous. United are a disgrace.

Why?

For all we know he’s turned us down a move to City makes a lot more sense than a move to Utd.

Better chance of trophies and less hassle from fans of his current team because their hatred of Manchester seems limited to just the red part.

I mean look yes the reality is City are a more attractive team than United now. And so yes it could be that he turned United down for the chance to go to City. But I suspect that's not necessarily the case as it doesn't seem United were interested. And that makes no sense because he's exactly what they need. De Jong is a fantastic player and also needed but a DM is essential too for United too.

A bit of an over exaggeration. We aren’t a disgrace because a player signs for another club.

Plus I don’t really rate Phillips that highly. He works hard and puts in a shift but a lot of players do that including our very own Fred. Not one bit am I disappointed we haven’t bought him.

It's frustrating that we haven't got anyone in yet. Needs something to give the whole Club a boost and hopefully kick start 4 (probably) or 5 (if we're lucky) good signings.
There must be a huge amount going on in the background you'd have thought but it always seems that our transfer policy resembles my eBay one,put a few low offers in that you know will be declined and then Buy It Now on the last day.

Didn't Phillips say he wouldn't play for us as his family would disown him?

If he's £45m then it should cut down the Rice fee. No way he's worth 3 times more.

Pretty much ones from a family of big Leeds fans where you are basically taught from birth to love Leeds and hate Man Utd.

Think the fee is helped by the fact he’s hardly played this season I like Phillips think he’s a good players but he’s a squad filler for City.

From what I’ve seen of them Rice is a much better player he is priced out of a move by his contract West Ham got him tied down for a good few years.

Lots of talk of them going for Cucarella from Brighton as well.

Exactly, we are eating after the CL clubs. No one want to come before they are sure that no CL club want them. Another stupid summer when everything will be done too late in the window. Leaving us with no preparation.

Wonder if Gareth Southgate has told Kalvin Phillips his World Cup squad place is at risk if he isn't starting regularly for City this season, and let's be honest he won't be barring injuries, or is it only United player that rule applies to. And I know the answer to that which is weird because he was a big United fan as a youngster.

Think any player who isn’t playing regularly is putting their place at risk.

If Gallagher breaks in at Chelsea then Phillips could easily miss out If he isn’t playing but I suspect with the volume of games clubs need to get in during the first half of next season he will get plenty of playing time.

Same reason if Sancho, Rashford, Saka, Mount, all start the season well then Grealish could miss out.

Think there are only a few members of that squad who if fit regardless of club form will be picked. Pickford, Walker, Maguire, Stones, Rice, Sterling and Kane.

I don't care about England, but I do care how they treat our players, and unless Rashford or his advisers have suggested giving Rashford time away from the latest England squads Southgate has treated him(Rashford), and to a lesser extent Sancho appallingly.

Even if he feels Rashford's form doesn't/didn't warrant a place in the squad he should've still called him up to keep him involved, unless as I suspect he feels guilty for the treatment Rashford received after the Euros, you know the numpties on twitter etc etc, and rightly so, and wants him as far away from the squad as possible at the minute so not to be a reminder.

It's just piss poor man-Management of a player who less than a year ago had started a match as Captain of England.

Sancho doesn’t get picked because when he’s played for England he hasn’t looked great he just hasn’t taken the chances he’s been given at that level. Rashford on form should never have gone to the euros but Southgate stayed loyal to him but this season he couldn’t pick him due to injury then form.

Should either find their best form again this season I expect they will be back in the mix.

I don’t think he can afford to show to much loyalty given how many players are knocking on the door now for the squads and in the last round of games he decided to give Bowen a chance which I think is fair our 2 looked like they needed the long break.

No harm Bowen getting a chance as he probably deserved it after a consistent season at club level but why not at the expense of Sterling who didn't get a look in at City towards the end of the season, and had been piss poor when he was picked, and is nailed on to be in the World Cup squad unless injured anyway, or Grealish who has never pulled up trees playing for England previously, and for City can be best described as a £100m roaring failure.

Because Sterling is brilliant for England that is why he gets picked based on international form not club form. That does factor in to Southgate decision making when he’s picking his squad same reason why Maguire always gets picked or Stones or Pickford. They deliver for England so they get picked.

Grealish I think is on thin ice and could easily miss out on the World Cup if he doesn’t start making an impact at City but in recent games he’s done well coming off the bench for England but if he plays badly in the last nations league games his spot is at risk.

Rashford and Sancho took their faltering club form into international matches and have paid the price for it if they get it going at club level again I think Southgate will happily welcome them back but there’s a lot of competition for those places in that squad.

Grealish, Mount, Sterling, Foden, Bowen, Saka, Smith-Rowe, Rashford and Sancho. That’s 9 guys probably competing for 6 spots in the squad.

Phillips deal confirmed £42m plus add ons.

Also, sale of Jesus to Arsenal confirmed for a similar fee.

Lots of talk that Bernardo Silva really wants to leave but struggling to find a club that can match City's valuation. Barca are the preferred destination but as we all know they're skint.

It's great that we can repay City for saving us from having to witness Liverpool winning the League last season by giving Barca the money to buy one of their better players when we finally sign de Jong. Proper neighbourly is that.

Important players for them.
He still keep going despite being 30 or 31 yo.

Yeah think he’s got a bigger role now with Sterling gone.

Theyre now a bit unproven in wide areas Alvarez needs to settle in as does Haaland and they will need Grealish to contribute a lot more than he did last season.

Always like Mahrez think Utd missed out big time with him.

We missed out on him and Kante, but if i remenber correctly, we tryed for both but they choosed your Rivals.

How is that possible ? We must be clueless if we didn't want them. They was the reason of there BPL Victory with Vardy.

Who knows? Kante had a release clause too.

Think the price scared a lot of people off Mahrez as he went off the boil a bit the following season from memory then got it going again.

In talks with Brighton for Marc Cucurella he'd be a handy signing for them they're short at left back and he had a great season at Brighton.

I thought both prices were pretty reasonable to be honest.

Sort of win wins for everyone Arsenal get good players at reasonable prices, City can replace squad players with fresh faces to rejuvenate their squads and the players get more first team football.

I think Arsenal have done well. Two good players.

Interested to see what they do with Zinchenko he looks great in midfield when he plays for Ukraine you have to assume if he's going there he's backing himself to get in the starting XI.

Jesus I think is a gamble can't think of many guys who go from being the number 2 at a big club to staring as the number 1 at another club but it wasn't like Lacazette was banging them in.

Think Arsenal should be deducted points for significantly topping up the unstoppable juggernauts' warchest.

Nah it's good business from both clubs, and sensible moves for both the lads.

£30m bid for Cucurella rejected by Brighton they want closer to £50m apparently.

Got 4 years left on his contract so no pressure to sell although you'd assume the player will be desperate to make that move.

To be a rotational player?

If he wants to sneak into the Spanish World Cup squad he stays where he is, or goes somewhere he's a guaranteed starter.
