If not Solskjaer, then who?

Who should be the next manager if Solskjaer’s tenure does come to an end?
cant believe everyone has missed this oppo but which manager with 1000 prem games under his belt, he won everything domestically and on European stage and is a true Legend .... Steve Bruce is available now, hes used to relegation scraps and wont take any crap from Chri$$tiano honestly guys if you cut him open he bleeds red :) none of that black and white twaddle he was spinning over last couple of seasons

Oh dear.

The Poch stuff I don't think is fully stacked up.

Yeah things are tough at PSG but is he really going to give up an almost nailed on league title and possible crack at the CL just to take over at Utd 6 months earlier? My guess is he'll stick it out at PSG and if they sack him he gets paid then walks straight into Utd that's win win for him really.

Or he gets that league title on his CV shakes hands to walk away then comes to Utd with a fresh start and he can say PSG just didn't work out same way it didn't work out for Tuchel to much politics and a dressing room that can't be managed.

For me though if he's the man and it costs us £10m to get him in straight away then do it the interim manager for me only really makes some sense if you are way further into the season.

Apparanlty this journo is a man with his finger on the pulse, united haven't approached anyone yet, but Poch is letting it known he's willing to come now.

Most of the stuff I've read suggests Poch wants to wait to the summer he's unhappy at PSG but willing to stick it out for a year.

I do think he likes the idea of working at Utd as he'd just be left to get on with the job and you have to assume he'd be well backed to bring in players.

If I was him I'd also want assurances that I can get rid of players I don't want.

Looks like Poch wants the job,Ten Hag wants it,ZZ might want it
And we will sign fecking Brenda i bet

I think actually he probably would. On his own terms he'd be able to leave. The league is pretty much a done deal so he'd know he essentially won the league with PSG. And if things go wrong he could get sacked or the situation at United could change.

He'd still need PSG to release him from his contract which they'd only do if they had a successor lined up. You can't just walk away from a fixed term contract. Utd and PSG haven't exactly got on to well in our recent history our wins over them have often left bitter tastes and Woodward never managed to get the Qatar owners onside for his super league plan. So you wonder how willing they'd be to just let us take their manager even if they don't want him.

Has Zidane actually said anywhere he wants the PSG job? I would imagine he'd be pretty annoyed at the same thing Poch is annoyed about which is the sporting director signing loads of players he didn't need and trying to manage all these mega ego's that think they only have to run in one direction on the pitch.

If ZZ is interested in the PSG job (we don't know if he is or isn't) then I think that could work for all parties. But that's a big if.

I read it's 10m to get Poch out, if thats who they want.

But will he leave? and give up his first title

I see the WUM is back.

Well Unai Emery is a far better manager than the last guy but he's not going to be our next manager.

He was also wrapped up in a very difficult period of the Arsenal history being the guy post Wenger he had to deal with lots of changes at the top of the club. They were a mess for a few years went through loads of different directors in a short period as people battled for positions of power in the new regime especially after Gazidis jacked shortly after Wenger.

Emery is a very good manager but for me he's a Rafa Benitez type his way of playing will never suit the top sides because he plays to avoid defeat rather than go for the win.

Who do you fancy?
The million dollar question, I think ten Hag would suit the clubs philosophy the best, but the last manager to come from Ajax to the league didn't exactly do very well.

I get the Poch rumour, he's a safe bet, been in the league, kind of competed, players improved under him, and he uses young players. I wouldn't be massively put out by Poch, but I do doubt if he has the extra bit needed. Maybe a league win in France will help him.

My main problem is I think we need someone now, not this interim rubbish. If it's going to cost 10m then so be it.

In an ideal world my choice would be Flick, never going to happen though.

The Poch talk is apparently coming from his people he wants the Utd job and is willing to come now but that will all depend on Utd negotiating an exit with PSG.

If he's the one we want then pay whatever it takes to get him don't mess about.

Mirror reporting it will cost us £10m to get him out of PSG.

Pointless getting an interim in if we can get the permanent guy in now be spending a bit of money not ideal but this is what happens when you have to change manager and we were clearly left with no choice.

Feels like a strange interim choice surely if he did well they’d keep him on.

Good manager I’d be pretty happy with that appointment.

Poch will be gutted, he's desperate for the United job, imagine if another interim got the job permanently

Not followed Ajax as closely as I had previously but he's doing great things there by all accounts and he's the right age so should be one of the front runners next Summer, and harsh on LvG, if he had Ronaldo, Cavani, Rashford, Greenwood, Sancho et al to work with, and not a motley crew of has-been's and never-will-be's up front he'd have probably won us the Premier League.

Never once watched one of Poch's teams in Spain or the Premier League, or listened to him talk football and think i'd like to see him at Old Trafford one day, and as you say he'd be a safe appointment. And he'd be a lot easier to get behind than Mourinho who I never wanted any where near Old Trafford.

An interim isn't ideal, but if the decision makers are all in agreement on who the next Manager should be, and we can't get them until the Summer, or after the next World Cup whenever the hell it is so be it. It's better than getting the 3rd, 4th or 5th choice just because we can get them now.

Got a funny feeling we'll plump for ZZ, he can leave his wife in France! In the last month i've gone from no never not in a million years to he might just be what the club needs, with Pat Rice Evra, or King Eric as his interpreter.
