How long do we give Solskjaer?

Well, the Juve players are saying same happened to them when Ronaldo arrived. He gets special treatment and it winds people up.

These players are well out of form though. Maguire, Bruno, Shaw. Then throw in the players that just aren't very good. A coaching team who don't now what they are doing. This is what you get.

I don't understand why they are not acting now.

I hate mornings like this; every sports section of every channel is painful. People aren't just criticising United, they're even being too kind to laugh; we're being pitied. Pity.

ffs

My choices are, even if choice 1 is impossible.

Flick
Ten Hag
Enrique
ZZ
Poch
Hasenhuttl

not a great list is it.

Here's a key thing for me, not being a Manchester lad, the biggest game for me of the season is the Liverpool game, not the City game.

Villa nd Everton I was really grumpy post match. Yesterday I was fine. Because I expected it. In fact I thought it would be worse.

That says it all for me really.

I'm no Ole fan we know that. I've said many times he's not the man and I think that's true. But no matter what I think you've got to look at it and think that there's something greater to this right? And I know this has been said in the past too.

LVG has been a hugely successful manager in his career. Jose too. But both of them really struggled and ultimately things turned against them. There's got to be something wrong within the club hasn't it?

LvG and Jose both came to the club living on past glories as their reputations as elite managers had started to wane.

Jose had gone wrong at clubs before and after

LVG, I never liked his style, worst Barca team I have ever seen, should never have got the job.

I think we need to mindful that Newcastle are also looking for a manager, and if Ole is to go soon or at the end of the season, the club need to act swiftly to make sure they get their preferred choice.

You're not gonna want to hear it but maybe it's about time some United fans lowered their expectations, for the time being at least, because whoever eventually replaces Ole, however successful they have been previously, they will still be competing against two tiny insignificant clubs who have become established only because they have had an unfair advantage over every other club for a decade, and Liverpool who finally have got their arses in gear after going through the motions for nearly 30 years.

Finishing above Liverpool and Chelsea was no mean feat last season, and if you expect any new Manager to do much better and play the United way(and yeah it is a thing) i'd prepare yourself for more disappointment.

It might need Pep and/or Klopp leaving before we get back to winning Leagues again, but we might fluke a Champions League.

This is a thing most need to accept. You could have prime Ferguson and he's struggling to win the league against these three. They're putting up points totals we never got near.

However that doesn't excuse the way we performed yesterday. Those that don't want to boo Ole out realise that this is a tough league to win. But we also can't lose at home to Liverpool 5-0.

Rubbish

So City and Chelsea have money. It's not like we're short of cash; Maguire, Varane, Sancho, Pogba, Bruno. All took serious wedge.

At least Chelsea were sensible enough to ditch the club legend when it was clear his management skills were not up to scratch.

Our second place finish is causing the problem. The club and some deluded fans think it was due to Ole making progress, when in reality it was the result of Liverpool and Chelsea having off seasons. So Ole gets a lot more leeway. He should be gone already.

Can you pull any quotes to get us past the pay wall?

Here's the first half of it.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was clinging to his job on Monday night after Manchester United’s hierarchy held crisis talks over the manager’s future and the team’s collapse amid serious concerns about how their season is unravelling.

Solskjaer’s position is under intense scrutiny after Sunday’s 5-0 humiliation at home to Liverpool triggered an inquest at the top of the club and it is understood significant parts of the dressing room have lost faith in the manager’s ability to take the club forward.

Joel and Avram Glazer, United’s co-chairmen, held emergency talks with executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward, and his expected successor, Richard Arnold, on Monday after a calamitous past few weeks that has sent their season into a tailspin.

Senior sources at Old Trafford claimed that there had been “no change” to Solskjaer’s position but accepted that there was “a lot to do to turn things around”.

One senior figure claimed the club had been “let off lightly” by Liverpool and that the scoreline could have been much worse after Paul Pogba was sent off with half an hour left and Jurgen Klopp’s side already leading 5-0.

In a damning indictment of United’s woeful form, Luke Shaw, the left back, admitted the Liverpool result had “been coming”.

Antonio Conte is understood to want the chance to succeed Solskjaer but the former Chelsea, Juventus and Inter Milan coach would seek full control and the Old Trafford hierarchy have previously held reservations about the demanding Italian, despite his outstanding coaching credentials and trophy haul.

Sources at Old Trafford distanced themselves from claims in Italy that there had been conversations with Conte’s representatives.

United were left scarred by Jose Mourinho’s tenure and any move for Conte may be considered to represent a departure from the club’s self proclaimed “cultural reboot”.

But United have been so wedded to Solskjaer, who signed a new three-year contract in the summer, that their sudden implosion has left the club’s decision-makers scrambling as they reflect on what has gone wrong and their options going forward.

Oh yeah, that was pitiful yesterday, I didn't think i'd ever feel worse after a home game than I did after the 1-6 v City, but yesterday was even worse, mind I have always thought of Liverpool as far bigger rivals so that comes into it, and we were down to 10 early into the 2nd half and City did score 3 in the last few minutes.

So you'd rather feel sorry for Liverpool than give Ole any credit then eh? With fans like you the club doesn't need enemies.

I can't remember the reporter, or the exact thing he said, but the gist:

3 of United's board members went to the same business school.

Numerous of United's back team are ex players, Carrick, Old, Fletch etc.

His point was are united targeting the best people for roles or is it jobs for the boys.

What are the chances 3 of best people to run the board went to the same business school at the se time. Likewise the coaches. How many is their first role, are they the best?
Are they too scared to get the right people in case they get found out.

They aren't going to sack him anytime soon. The wheels will come off completely before they sack him I think.

What happens if we get a positive reaction to todays result and performance, and whoever the Manager is we will, nothing surer, and we beat Tottenham and City, and beat Atalanta away in the Champions League, we will, do you still sack him? Or do you wait until after Chelsea away?
Right c'mon Ciderman, take your meds as prescribed

Matt Judge and Ed Woodward both went to Bristol Uni. Not sure if it was the same years.

I can they’ve shown before they are slow to act I was surprised when they sacked Mourinho mid season.

I think he will get until at least the City game.
And that's every bit as terrifying as Sunday, if not more. The scousers took their foot off the gas after Pogba's tackle. They didn't keep up that pace and momentum coz they knew they'd done the job and didn't want to risk anymore outrageous incidents and injuries like what they had just encountered!
