Bruno Fernandes | Match Discussion thread 2021/22

In terms of importance to the team for me Utd have 3 key players Maguire, Bruno and Rashford.

When those 3 are out you really notice the drop off in level.

Look we don't have to agree I'm not hearing anything to change my mind that I think for a one off game against the best team in the country we should change it and sadly that means I think we put Bruno on the bench for this one and stick Pogba in. Use him as a weapon off the bench to give us a 30 minutes blitz of full blast Bruno if we need it.

Next game at Spurs I'm all for Bruno being back in because Spurs midfield isn't anywhere near is good and I think we can dominate them.

Sun are saying he's an injury doubt.

Also he said management need to improve as well as players.

If it's anything to do with the Sun the Liverpool fans won't have read it so they may well be oblivious to the fact that our talisman is a doubt.

So best let them know on RAWK and LFC Reds Forum where the less intelligent Liverpool fans tend to hang out.

And if there's no quotes it never happened. Unless it was a general we all need to improve then it wouldn't have make sense if he didn't mention the Management as well.

Sorry bud but don't agree. Maguire sure he's been important but not so sure he is now that they've signed Varane.

Bruno absolutely though they need to rest him more.

Rashford? He's a United fans dream but he's really not that good. I mean honestly he just isn't.

Our defence fell apart the moment Maguire got injured last season and so far Varane hasn’t looked like the saviour.

Rashford when fit for the last few seasons has carried us at times makes a huge difference when he’s in form hitting 20 goals in the last two season.

What both these guys do is play through the pain for the club.

Anyone is entitled to their opinion and it cannot be wrong - but yeah you’re wrong. :p

Like jsp said, he has carried us on occasion and is a very good player. Granted there are times when he can be frustrating (but a lot of players are to be fair). However, he can do some pretty awesome things on the field. Plus he’s still only 23 so has the potential to get better and better. If he suddenly became available for transfer tomorrow, most clubs in the world will be trying to get in the transfer.

Ain't that the truth.

You guys really do not watch the same stuff as the neutral fans. You really honestly don't.

No but you watch a team you clearly hate.

These two players have been vital for Utd over the last 2 season if you can’t see that you are a fool.

Want evidence look at how much of a mess we are when Maguire isn’t at his best.

Rashford is so over hyped because of his story and what he's done off the pitch. I have so many friends who don't support United who all say the same.

Can't agree with this. He's a very good player at 23 and will only get better.

On the Liverpool forum you moderate.

Given what is currently happening picking fights probably isn’t a good idea as you’ll drive fans off your message board.

The guy has been our top scorer in the last two seasons how can you say he’s not vital.

The stuff he’s doing off the pitch is a bonus but on the pitch he’s been very important to us in recent seasons.

I like your posts in the main, but you're 100% wrong with this one.
And that's fine bud we are all entitled to our opinions. I like the debate. I know his stats look good but I really don't think he's the good.

Atalanta 2-2 Man Utd

Beatiful movement and touch to create the goal for Ronaldo but other than that very anonymous they almost looked to be man marking him second half was surprised Ole left him on as long as he did.

Premier League: Norwich City 0-1 Manchester United - 11th December 2021

Gave the ball away on 27 occasions!

The quality of his passing this season has been awful gets on the ball in dangerous places but he’s just wasting the ball.

Been nowhere near his best this season.

I don't know if it's a hangover from the Ole days, but too often we try the clever flick or ambitious pass when what is required is s simpler lay off.

Think we’ve just got a load of those types in our squad we don’t look after the ball in the final third.

Bruno takes risks but he looked shattered I reckon had Lindelof stayed on he’d have been hooked 10-15 minutes earlier.

Here's the thing...Fernandes is one of those precocious talents. Capable of the sublime and absolutely capable of world class moments etc. But in my mind he lacks the control that makes him a truly world class player. Too often I watch him do things and think my god that's really poor.

Premier League: Newcastle United 1-1 Manchester United - 27th December 2021

Sloppy again.

He’ll be fortunate to keep his place in the team.

I would drop him for VdB for Burnley. He needs to look across the City at KDB, who keeps it simple when he has to. Bruno tries to play the stellar pass every single time.

I think we will learn about Ralf in the next game or two - will he drop Ronaldo or Bruno? They deserve to be dropped after tonight’s performance but it depends how the other guys are performing in training. There have been positive signs for VDB when he has played of late but whether he gets in ahead of Bruno is another matter.

Frustrating night for Bruno he creates chances but he gives it away so much.

he couldn’t complain if he was dropped.

Behave, there's half a dozen players i'd spell/drop before Bruno, memories of a goldfish some of yous.

based on performances this season he’s a very lucky boy to still have his shirt.

You can’t give the ball away as cheaply as he does at this level.

He is in poor form any player who is out of form shouldn’t be getting picked every single game.

According to the FPL website Bruno is suspended for the Burnley match so does the gaffer gamble on Hannibal Mejbri to replace him, or go safe and draft Matic in, or the lesser spotted de Beek??

He doesn't have the control in his game to play in a Rangnick style team. If that's the way United are going in terms of their next manager then I'm not sure Fernandes is going to be able to stay.

Should have scored today - really bad miss. Reflects his current form.

He actually played really well when he came on but that was a huge moment in the game and missing the target from there isn’t what you expect from a player of his quality.

Hit his shot far too cleanly, if he'd scuffed it like Moutinho did we'd have probably won 1-0 and everybody would've been happy, or at least those that know how to be happy would.
