Every week this year I've listened to 606 and I've listened to United fans calling in and saying they don't think Ole is the man. I'm not saying that's the majority view by the way but I'm saying I hear it every week. And every week Chris Sutton and Robbie Savage respond with the same thing... "it's only X weeks in the season, you've got to give him time". Like you have to base your view on an individual season and not the collective!

If there was good performances mixed in with the bad results I could understand the call for more time but the start of this season looks like the end of last season performances are poor and as a result the results are a mixed bag. This slump started around Xmas last year just after we actually hit the top of the league after a draw away to Liverpool.

There’s zero sign of real progress we look exactly the same as we did 12 months ago.

8 league games isn’t far off 25% of the season and as it stands we sit 6th level on points with West Ham and Everton having not played a single side above us.

Only the entitled and WUM's who have the patience to sit and wait their turn go on shows like that. Not to be taken seriously.

I think he's losing supporters by the week, lose to Liverpool and city I also can't see him surviving.
He's not learning, pumping out the same formation/team to lose easily.
If it's not working he's got to show he has the skills to change it

So relying on luck rather than implement tactics to get the best out of the players at his disposal?

Luck plays a massive part in football, always has.

And i'm not sure there is a system available to get the best out of Pogba, Bruno and Ronaldo in the same team. Don't think Pep or Klopp or any favour of the month Manager would fair much better.

He's got to drop one or two of them, and as I said go back to basics, and if that means stinking the place out winning a few games 1-0 playing 4-4-2 so be it.

Solskjaer’s record in the bigger games is average. The notion that United do well is overstated.
Further to my post:

Since Solskjaer was appointed manager his record against Chelsea, Liverpool, City, Arsenal, Spurs is 34 points out of a possible 75.

City have won the league twice in the last three years. Their record was 43 points out of a possible 60.

Liverpool’s record in their title winning season was 22 points out of a possible 30.

Solskjaer’s record is decent, but is overstated.

Think there’s plenty of lads/lasses who go home and away who are losing faith game after game.

I know it’s only a snapshot on here but 80% currently on this poll saying he should go 3-4 weeks ago over 90% said he should stay. I’d say in the last few weeks there’s been a noticeable change in support towards the manager with many losing faith.

I’d say amongst the fans we are starting to see many who feels this is as far as it goes with Ole doesn’t mean those at the game won’t be right behind him and the team in the next 2 games wanting him to win.

Correct I want United to win every game mate hope he proves us wrong but he just seems totally out of his depth

Oh really I am a Season ticket holder time served as are my mates Stretford end Why would I change that. I was 10 when we were relegated

Lighten up mate, thought the smiley would let you know it was meant in jest.

I find a high % of the Ole Outers are in the 35 and under age group.

Whereas those of us like yourself that remember relegation tend to be a bit more patient.

Nowt wrong with getting down with the kids occasionally though.

That's the problem, some of our fans change their mind more often than they probably change their under crackers.

We were told pre-season there would still be bumps in the road, and we're having a few bumps at the minute, shock horror, and we'll probably have a few more till we get to where we all hope to be.

But no patience some people.

He’s got to make brave calls we can keep starting the same players it isn’t working.

Do you bench Ronaldo to play either Greenwood or Cavani as the CF?
Do you bench Bruno and bring in Lingard to provide a bit more energy? Lingard’s form has been good when he’s played.
Do you bench Maguire his form and possibly fitness are a major concern?

Midfield sadly there are no answers to that mess.

One thing that might save him is Rashford if he’s fit he is the player for these big games especially if we can play on the break a bit more.
he can play Ronaldo and Cavani - Ronnie out wide and Cavani leading the line. Then he has to choose between Sancho, Mason and Jesse but I don't believe he has the tactical no how to change anything ever

If you read my post though my post wasn't so much about the callers and their views. It was about this notion that it is too early in the season to judge Ole and to think he's not the right man.

Not sure I would want Ronaldo out wide any more. Don't think he can play that role. He needs dropping.

Think most have given him nearly 3 years to get things right obviously there were people who never wanted him but the vast majority got behind him and have stayed behind him but those who weren't convinced but went along with it are starting to turn and I'm one of them.

I'll admit I decided long ago I didn't think he was up to the job club rushed into giving him the permenant deal on the "ole's at the wheel" wave, but felt he deserved a bit more time to get his players in and Bruno became a breath of fresh air carried us along for 6 months. Then last season that horror show in the CL plus our dreadful start pretty much put me back in the same place there's a difference between hoping something might work and knowing it will.

This season the results and performances just put me back in that same place again he's clearly not up to the job our tactics are suicidal and he's created himself a huge problem in his squad keeping all these stars happy.

What are we being patient for? Is he suddenly going to get our back 4 organised, teach our attacking players how to press, get our midfielders to grow a pair of balls to take the ball of the defence or will he stick with this system he's played pretty much for 2 years now that isn't working?

If he left now he'd still be the best manager we've had post Ferguson he's the only one who can say they left the club in a better position than they found it in but if a top manager comes available the club have to take them as on the pitch Ole is nowhere near his competition.

Think if you play both they need to play as a pair up top which means no Bruno but I don't think either is really capable of playing 90 minutes regularly which means you are using 2 of your 3 subs.

Not having Ronaldo out wide the guy might have a body like some sort of roman sculpture but he can't run anymore he's got a burst of speed but has he actually dribbled past anyone since he arrived? His days of running down the wing are long gone and have been for a very long time even before he joined Juventus his days as a winger were up.

For Ronaldo to work I think you've got to get the whole team closer to him which means finding a way of pinning the opponent back for long periods of the game. We can't do that because we give the ball away to easily and when we do we don't press we drop off so teams can get up the pitch.

SunSport understands the Old Trafford hierarchy are happy with the direction he is steering the club in.

United see him as a long-term project, and are fully behind what he is trying to create as they fight for the Premier League title.

That's the general held view across all sports though as form fluctuates over the season, if somebody had said we'd win the treble in 1999 having watched every United match before Christmas that season they'd have been carted off by Men in white coats. And I don't mean Butchers coats.

That's an extreme example granted, but a few scrappy wins and we're up and running again.
