This has got nothing to do with the press. He needs to keep his ego in check and also protect himself from being exploited. You can bet it was Macmillan (a great organisation by the way) that contacted him and put him up to this to exploit his name and recent campaigns. This idea he's got to get his mind back to football and can't focus on anything else. Do you guys struggle to focus on anything else but work and does your work life suffer because you have interest outside of work?
It's the biggest non argument I've ever heard. I don't know about you but I manage to work quite well and do other non work related task too. The idea this is damaging to his football is absolute rubbish.
The idea is when people along with the other arguments they make is that he should know his place because he's putting too many noses out of joint. Oh how the daily mail and others have been waiting to write such nonsense as seen above.
Lewis Hamilton gets the same treatment. His other activities will ruin his driving and he should know his place. What is it with people and telling sportsman what they can and can't manage to do whilst focusing on their career too?
He will be getting carried away, looking for the halo. His comments about lack of reading opportunity are total nonsense, so not point in twisting it by blaming the press.
