Said above that despite not playing well, he's still scoring goals, few seasons ago he wouldn't be scoring goals playing like this. In 09-10 he played mostly in the box and scored a lot of goals, this season he's been deeper but has managed to score goals too. Just wish his passing was better especially in the final 3rd.

He'll hit 180 this season. Catching van Persie for Golden Boot now too.

Depends on how long he plays on for. If he plays past 2016 then it's possible.

Didn't quite realise how close he was getting now to both records. I think both will be tough depending on a few things, the England one more so. He's not our main goalscorer anymore. Wouldn't expect him to score the same amount as he got last season ever again. 15-25 is his range for us now really.

I think Rooney can definitely take Sir Bobby's record. I've heard ~3 seasons to do it. I think that's the max you're looking at for him to do it, just as long as health is on his side.

50 off Law now. 24 off Rowley, I don't think he'll do that this season. We'll win the league if he does though.

Rooney usually goes on a run now. Goes through periods of not scoring then scores a load. Hopefully he will go on a run now.

I said last week he will go on a run. What do we think another 3 seasons to top Sir Bobby record?

Probably. I agree with Jason's point from a few months ago that we should expect a lower goal return from Rooney now he's playing in a deeper role. Before we signed van Persie I thought he could top 40 goals for the season, but that is unrealistic now.

I'd have loved Ruud Van Nistelrooy to have been at us longer, he'd of destroyed the record in my opinion. But Rooney will do it.

How many penalties has Rooney missed since joining us. Should really be over 200 now.

If he was our main goalscorer like he's been for past few seasons, i'd say yes, but not sure now. It depends on how far we go in the CL and FA Cup. Can't see him scoring 20 more goals in the league alone. Injuries haven't helped him so far this season, should really be in double figures.

Stat: Rooney and van Persie have only started 13 games together out of a possible 32 games.
