According to media reports. Thoughts?
another Brazilian attacking midfielder, and has pretty much the same attributes that you expect from a Brazilian , good technique, flair, etc
If i had to sign one of them, definitely i'd sign Douglas Costa. William is a good player, has a great future ahead, but i don't know if he's ready to take that step. Douglas Costa seems to be more prepared for that, despite the attitude problems.

i dont need anyone... Ando is starting to do well.. bring back cleverley... but if we really need to buy, go for hamsik... That's all...
I know Douglas is left footed but whenever I've seen him he has played on the right. We don't need another right sided player.
i think once a winger comes to United he plays down both wings! lol, Valencia is the only exception, everyone else has been trained to play down both wings, even Giggsy!
Yeah that's true ! I'd say a winger will be signed in the summer because a lot have been linked, not sure who though !
Douglas played very well last night by the way.
According to Mark Ogden of the Telegraph... Douglas Costa in Man Utd directors' box today. Still at Shakhtar, but United have long standing interest.
Could have just been a guest of Ando or the Twins. There are many who could be the player we tried to sign in January. It was around this time last year that we announced Chicha deal, with the international break now, might be a good time to announce it. I talked in the Pastore thread about, if we were to sign an AMC he'd have to be able to play on the wing too due to AMC not really working that good in 4-4-2. Douglas Costa is a player who can play on either wing and through the middle. He's also a bit of a set piece specialist.
I definitely wouldn't mind seeing him at United, although I don't think it would a "cheap" signing. According to rumors, would be around £ 15m. I think it will be more expensive. He is one of the leading players on a team increasingly emerging on the European scene.
But I think this whole story of him being at Old Trafford is very strange. I don't know if he is injured or suspended, but Shakhtar will play today by the Ukrainian league. Anyway, let's see what happens in the coming days / months.
Do you think he could adapt into a central midfield player, the link between midfield to attack ?
He played for Shakhtar today, they won 4-0 and he scored.
Douglas Costa has denied being at OT yesterday, i've seen the photo and it certainly looks like him, he's on the left in white, there are also 4 Brazilian young looking kids on the same row + an older man who looked like an agent or something.
Douglas Costa today
So unless his hair has miraculously grown from yesterday its not him.
Im guessing the 4 other lads are from Deportivo Brasil or Fluminese
Was just about to post a picture of him from today. I wonder who it really is...
Probably it's just a lookalike. haha.
Anyway the story was very strange. Shakhtar never let him go to Old Trafford yesterday with a game to be played today.
Journos in this country are useless fair play, at least check if it was actually him.
EDIT: I've been talking with a friend and i got good informations about the players in suits in that picture.. All them are brazilians and from Desportivo Brasil. Gladstony, Agnaldo, Lucas Evangelista and Rafael Leao are their names. The first team manager was there as well (Osmar Loss). All them are midfielders.
Wasn't there 4 kids, the other one being Aguilar who was rumoured to be on trial with us in January.
On the Douglas Costa rumours, it's probably understandable that the media are/have latched on to this possible transfer because the lad is the right age which Fergie likes and we'll probably try and strengthen the midfield area.
Nice one Jorge. Apparently Aguilar who was on trial in January has already signed for us by the way. The search continues for the man in white though.
Yes, Comparing some pictures, the man in white surely is Gladstony. This means that there were 5 Desportivo Brasil Players there. And i'm sure Aguilar is among them.
Speaking in Aguilar, here's a nice goal scored by him:

Are the 5 players well known in Brazil ?
They're only youngsters so probably aren't. Desportivo aren't a big club either.
