Timothy Fosu-Mensah agrees move to Manchester United - Official Manchester United Website

Manchester United agreed a deal to sign Timothy Fosu-Mensah from Ajax ahead of the transfer deadline.

The 16-year-old is a powerful defender who caught the eye at the AEGON Future Cup and is highly regarded in his homeland.
Fosu-Mensah still requires an International Transfer Certificate to be processed in order to make his debut for Paul McGuinness' Academy squad, but his versatility and ability mark him out as an excellent addition for the Reds.

Had read he was a left sided player but seems to play right side too but mostly central defence it seems.

A few of the same clips in this compilation as the video above but a lot of new footage too. He shouldn't be far away from getting his clearance by now you'd have thought, have you heard anything, manc?

Saw him make his debut for the U18 this morning, and all I can say is WOW !

He played the Daley Blind role, but got forward quite a bit also, was easily our best player. I can see him being in the U21 by the end of this season.
He turns 17 in January, so is still young, but is very strong and not afraid to get stuck in.

I can see why we bought him and cant wait to see him progress

The 1 moment that really impressed me, was when he was going forward and had a shot blocked, then realised that no one was back covering as Everton countered, he managed to get back and made a brilliant tackle to stop Everton progressing.

I think he will be in the u21s before the end of the season. Maybe get some first team game time next season if we have more games.

He certainly has the physique to be fast tracked. Van Gaal has proven throughout his career that he'll give players a chance if they are deserving regardless of age so if he keeps impressing it will be interesting to see what happens.

Doesn't turn 17 till next month, U21s maybe later this season and then depending where he is, maybe a debut in the League Cup or FA Cup next season. Looks very quick.
